Technical advice regarding Bluetooth, call sos and voice activation
Hi everyone. I wondered if anyone could advise on my issues I have with respect to a 2005 BMW 330i with sat nav and logic 7. I have done a lot of research on this topic but still cannot find a solution.
Problem Call sos when starting car Bluetooth not functioning. Menu will not let me activate, as in place a tick in the box. Voice activation not recognised. Spec sheet states bt and call assist had been installed from the factory. Diagnostics to date. Reset of radio using 3 button method Removal of main battery Optical loop on Tcu amp and cd changer individually. Removal of the roof mounted light/sos console to check connections. None of the above make any difference and the call sos appears every time and no Bluetooth + voice recognition. Only the optical loop on the amp resulted in no sound from the radio. Had the Tcu out and there is a red light emitting from the box, confusing me even more. Red optical lights into the equipment are viable into the cd, amp but I have not seen it into the Tcu (although this could be a red herring). Diagnostic tool does not recognise the Tcu so cannot tell me any faults. Any help would be most appreciated as I am stuck and I don't want to spend lots without knowing I have ruled out all things. I am really confused as I have found loads of info on the internet but nothing that sounds the same as what I have in my vehicle. Thank you to anyone who can give me any advice or ideas how to diagnose this issue. Mark |

I had the same problem (Logic 7 system) - turned out my amp was waterdamaged.
I did the same troubleshooting with a fiber optic loop, testing at intermediate locations (amp, TCU) on the fiber optic "circuit". I guessed the amp was no good, so I replaced it and it's been fixed since. |

Thanks Hearf for the reply. When you did the optical loop on the amp for the Bluetooth then work?? Did this also solve the call dos error.
How did you manage to confirm it was the amp at fault??? Thanks again. Mark |

I vaguely remembered seeing somewhere that the amp is the first part of the loop from the headunit, so I guessed the amp was the source of the problem. |
