I pretty much have the exact same problem as you right now. I had to put the gas down earlier this week to get out of an intersection and I got the "full engine power not available" sign. Trying to figure out exactly what is causing the problem at the moment. I'm not getting any power out of the car when i put the pedal to the floor.
Anyone have any recent documents from BMW Canada that I might be able to show to my dealerships in case they try to argue with me regarding and HPFP service? |

If it's HPFP, I believe BMW extended the new car coverage for that part to 10 years and 120K miles. You're safe perhaps?
It could be other things and these are the two I know of. If you get the first, you'll likely get the second too because when the technicians fix the waste gate problem it seems the effectiveness of the seals is compromises and they don't hold securely causing a loss of pressure. Estimated cost to repair, based on what I was told when mine went bad (under warranty) is $5K. - Turbo waste gate - Turbo seals I will pray for you that it's not what I've described above or HPFP. This is one of those things that is why I don't recommend buying a used 335i. I say that only for prospective used car buyers who may happen upon this post/thread. I know it's useless info for you, OP. Sorry.

You'll have to replace injectors 1, 2 & 3 (all on bank one) at the same time because BMW came up with a new injector model that is not compatible with the old model. They'll probably charge you $300 per injector for parts plus about 4 hours of labor... Go grab your wallet and a tube of Vaseline... Sorry about your luck ;(

mine, just did the same thing. I could restart the car and it would act normal again until i punched it over 3k. once i did that it would go back to running poorly and having a really bad idle. I have been able to repeat the process a few times now. I'm currently out of town but i will sending my back to the shop to figure out whats going on.
keep us updated as to what you find out and if it fixes the problem. |

Off topic but what is this 120K warranty on the water pump. I have seen this ever where here, but i don't understand if it applies to me or not. I am assuming it is 120k Miles. Does that apply only to cars In the US or does it apply all over NA? Reason i ask is because i am at 100k KM on my car and on the original water pump.

I got a reduced power message and SES light before too when punching the throttle on the highway. Usually came up during WOT at a certain RPM, restarting the car would solve the problem. I too thought it was the sparks or injectors, but all were changed within less than 10k miles ago and fuel pump replaced due to recall even though I never experienced problems with it up to 60k.
Finally got it checked and I believe there should be specific codes thrown and even misfire codes in cylinder 1 and 3 or one of them, i forget. The low pressure fuel sensor was the culprit and that surprisingly even brought my car back to life like when I first bought the car. |

Check www.BMWusa.com for more scoop, or contact your local dealer. I suspect too if you search for it, one of the several BMW forums on the web will have the specifics of it posted somewhere. All the best.

Could be any of the following:
Vacuum tank leak, loose low pressure fuel pump. Manifold sensor. Same symptom you are having. Get codes read by dealer to find out
