Is the ride really bad with lowering springs on stock suspension
I’m planning to lower my car cause the xdrive sit too high. Planning just to get lowering springs but heard bad reviews for lowering springs with stock suspension setup. Have anyone experience with this before. If the ride is really that bad might as well get some coilover . Thanks my car is e92 with xdrive

Lowering springs with a shock made for lowering like Konis is good. Depends on how low you want to go. Cheap coilovers don’t last very long from my experience before they need rebuild and all suspensions ride like crap when worn out.

It will depend on the combo you end up with. I have used drop springs with OEM struts/shocks and it rode completely like stock. Literally the only difference was its easier to bottom out. But they were a 3 inch drop, so it was expected. But the combo lasted over 70,000 miles without a hint of a problem.

*Side note....I live in South Florida where roads are flat, straight and no pot holes! Just an occasional speed bump or two. I would only do this if you live in a similar environment. Had this set up for 10,000 miles. |
