BMW 330I E90 Condensation on headlight?
I have a 2006 bmw 330I and yesterday I took it to a car wash and the left headlight appeared to have gotten some water inside or condensation. The whole headlight is kind of covered with like condensation water stuff? The car has never been crashed, neither the headlight never been replaced.
what do I have to do to get the water out or the condensation out?? any suggestions?? thanks |

pop the top lid off and use a hair dryer to blow in the headlight unit. make sure you put the blower on cold. I did that and all the condensation went away in like 10 minutes.

make sure you take care of this asap. i had BMW replace a blown out headlight a few months ago. About three days after the replacement, we had a rain storm and i got water in the headlight. About 2 days after that, i got an adaptive headlight failure on my idrive.
I took it to the dealer and sure enough, the water shorted out my adaptive headlight motor. BMW fixed it at no charge to me because it was there fault for not installing my replacement bulb correctly. I beleive the SA said it would have been over $500 just for the part. |

Most European manufacturers have some sort of bulletin out to their dealers informing them that condensation is normal. Condensation should clear up in a few minutes once the headlights turn on and heat up. |

The OP has condensation in his headlamps - a normal condition. He can take it to the dealer for a quick look but the easiest way is to turn the headlamps on and take it for a half hour drive. Junior high science should remind all of you where the condensation came from. These are not sealed beam headlamps so humid air will get in. |

A little condensation in the headlights is not a big deal. It will go away and is unlikely to return. Many of us had this when our cars were new.

If it is the regular bulb. You have to make certain the ridiculous wire bracket is snug and also the foam in the plastic door wears out. The wire holds the bulb in snug. The door is not expensive. I had one leak for awhile and form condensation after changing the bulb.
