what should be replaced @ 60k miles on a 328i?

I just want to save up and get everything needed before I go bezerk with a new motor, I see I need new oil and a rotor and pad change and possibly a parking brake shoe. What else is there to check for? I don't want to rip apart my motor but just to be safe, ill do so if needed ( by a shop of course). What have you guys done? I've also been thinking of a diff oil and tranny oil change. Here's basically the list of what I am thinking of doing soon:
-Oil change
-Tranny and diff oil
-Rotors and pads
-Parking brake
-Suspension and allignment
That's all that I have so far, is there anything else I should be looking for?

If you want to go all out for hell of it...

-Oil change/Filter
-Tranny and diff oil
-Rotors and pads
-Parking brake
-Suspension and alignment
-Coolant flush (Bmw coolant from dealer)
-Power Steering flush
-Fuel filter
-Brake fluid flush
-New belts (look at tensioner and pully and make sure they spin freely)
-Cabin micro filter
-Fuel system Cleaner like STP Complete

Think I covered it all huh..lol

Lol seems like I've gotten most of it, should I save up for the extended warranty or would self replacing be cheaper? Btw, do you know what oil filter is oem? And do you have the pat numbers for each thing?

I am in the same boat.. I have about 57k on my 328i...

How do I check my belts?... like what EXACTLY do I need to do?

My car is aligned perfectly so I am not doing that, suspension runs good.

Allblack, look for any cracking, stretching, or fraying of the belts. At 57k you should just replace belts, cheap and good insurance

Is it a DIY or a shop thing? I have no cracks, rips, or aything wrong with the belt. Are all of the things motor wise simple? Or do I need a shop to dobit for me? Btw how much is it?

Get the complete mike miller old school schedule

Get the complete mike miller old school schedule
He rebuilds the cooling system and preemptively replaces
some other stuff at about 90k.
Basically change all fluids and Filters where practical.
Plugs at 60k according to Mike as much to make sure they
don't seize in place as because of wear.
If you do half as much as he lays down it will be more than twice
as much as the Lifetime schedule suggests.

Google Mike Miller BMW

How would I do the seafoam application? I've hit about the 3 year mark now

I've searched his name up, how hard is it to do the spark plug change?

There is a plug DIY in the DIY subforum

http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16

Also there is a maintenance sub forum and a lot of other stuff in the subforum directory
above and there are more sub forums on the top level it takes a while to
find your way around here.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/index.php?

You have to take a lot of stuff off the two plugs in the back look like a reach.
You need to use a torque wrench . I get the impression from reading the posts
the the NGK's are better than the Bosches.

Everyone has their own opinion on stuff I personally believe waiting 100k for plugs is bad idea. Mine was at 97k and as acting little wierd at idle and on gas from 1st gear. It ended up being worn out plugs - I would highly recommend doing plugs every 60k only because I think bmw says 100k to put stress on coils so you have to go to dealer to order new ones.

Plugs go to autozone and get NGK Iriduim XI plugs (one ground prong). I Tried Bosch Plat +4's and mine ran like garbage, besides NGK is OEM for bmws.

Changing tranny fluid has caused many BMWs to have tranny failures. I'd leave it alone if I was you since its lifetime.

This is because most people only get around to changing the "lifetime" fluid after they've started to notice transmission problems already. It's already on it's last legs and then when it lets go people like to blame the fluid change.

A full pan drop and filter replacement should be part of everyone's maintenance routine. Don't wait too long.

give this a look over. i would only do things like brake pads/rotors if they are worn.

Belts there is only one (I think)

Belts there is only one.
My Indy says not to change it till there are signs of cracks.
One of the perks of having a BMW is the timing chain.
Its suppose to never need changing and the only instance
of breakage I have seen reported here is during extreme abuse.
That's one of the more expensive maintenance procedures on
other cars.
If you have a manual change the fluid to redline D6 it will really
smooth out the shifts.
