FMIC vs Charge Pipe?
OK hypothetically speaking if you had to do one upgrade vs the other which one would you pick first and why? Upgrading the FMIC or charge pipe?
My personal choice I think would be the FMIC - but I could be wrong. |

FMIC. Upgrading the charge pipe does not yield any power gains, just allows for a way to run BOVs along with the reassurance that it will not pop off.

Ran the stock chargepipe and dv's with no problems with fbo's on 93 octane @15-16psi with no problem..
So my vote is DEF FMIC

FMIC was one of the best mods I've put in. IATs used to rise like crazy even in Oregon's weather (<40F at night). With the new FMIC, they constant and very low. recovery time is amazing as well.

Well, meth gives you more hp period. I am pretty sure meth + charge pipe is still better hp/$ than the fmic. So i actually would opt for cp with meth bong ant get the meth kit next. Then save the fmic for last.

I highly suggest you do more research on your mods before you start modding. Your question clearly shows you have no idea what a charge pipe or an FMIC does... look these up first...

Tune plus intake first. Then LSD if you are RWD like most (depending on your budget), then meth or DPs, depending on whether you want more sound first or more power, then whatever else will help incrementally. Just my humble sometimes misinformed opinion. My car is kind of fast though and is just fine with lots of severe abuse. I assume that a FMIC will help overall efficiency generally speaking, and will help more without meth than with meth. some people don't want to run meth though. Hell, just get them both at the same time and call it a day |

Isn't the safe reason people change their stock CP/diverter valves is to take the pressure off the turbo seals? I would do FMIC before charge pipe, and just swap out DV's.

Ok, assuming you do know the difference, why would you even think getting a charge pipe before an fmic would make any difference. If you have a broken or leaking charge pipe, then get a new charge pipe. If not, get an fmic...

As most people have said, FMIC would be the most beneficial.
Assuming you have a tune, if you are worried about blowing your stock DVs off, get the CP. As others have said, they are running 14-16 and are just fine. In some cases, it will blow off because of the added boost. So, FMIC recommended, but CP if you're concerned.

If you don't have a tune that would be the first thing to get. After the tune some will say do downpipes or downpipes and meth etc. My order Cobb tune stage1 as of last night Spearco FMIC w/twin Raptor BOV on stock chargepipe running Cobbstage1+ (I will change my chargepipe once I run a meth set-up), next week downpipes and dci's will run Cobb stage2+, last upgrade would be meth. Use the search engine there are alot of threads with feedback usually with dyno charts
