Any of you guys use Alex Autohaus (out in Midvale off of State) ever? God a pretty reasonable price to install FMIC/DPs and thinknig I'm probably going to use them unless anyone has a reason to steer me away. Quoted just over $325 for both.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any 'backup plan' if that were to happen again? Spare in trunk? Mobility kit? Or is the tow truck pretty much it? This is my only concern to switching over. I'm still going to switch though.

I actually had the BMW mobility kit when it happened. Goop leaked out because I split the tire pretty good. So tow truck was the answer. Don't keep a spare/jack/wrench in the trunk.

Oh positive comment above you, lol. Mind elaborating on what happened?

I'm just having trouble finding a shop and with lift/shop access DPs/FMIC should be relatively easy.

But ya, let me know if you don't mind.

Got rid of my rub flats pretty much straight away. Hate the things, it was like being on train tracks. But maybe it's just me.

I did notice a dramatic difference going from the 2006 on Runflats to the 2011 on Runflats. The new car was sooooo much smoother and easier to drive. The technology has come a long way. If it was my wife driving the car everyday, it would still be on Runflats.

But the Morr wheels were too beautiful to not use and there isnt one made in the size I needed.

So he is an APR dealer and coming from the VW/Audi scene he was horrible with the tuning. He would mess up the tune and re-charge people for his mistakes. It isn't hard just to connect a computer to the OB port. He would fry ECUs and then charge for re-programs.

We needed coils installed before a big show and 1 - he told us really false information on how he would install them and 2 - he was going to butt rape us on price. Uh, are you kidding me? He didn't even know what he was talking about.

Given, this was in 2009/2010 and 2011. Maybe the years have changed him but he didn't know what he was doing and he charges up the ass.

Missing up a tune is unacceptable.

They are horrible but I like the idea of having them as an extra set.

I recently upgraded my kidney grilles to the all black ones. Anyone willing to take my stock ones off my hands? Theyre in great condition and I don't want to just throw them away. I'm not asking for a specific price. Whatever anyone is willing to buy them for, really. Hit me up with an offer, if interested. ..

I'm also selling an iPhone 4/4S cradle for $80.

When I had my GTI I had my flash done at Alex's Autohaus and I would do the same if I had to do it over again. They charged slightly more than most people over on those forums were usually paying to have it done. Never had any problems with the flash and Alex was very helpful showing me how to work everything - he even gave me his cell phone number to call anytime in case I had any questions/problems.

On a side note, when I had that done (probably fall of 2010) he was driving a 335i coupe so I would assume that he is pretty knowledgeable and familiar with them.

Any of you guys know of a shop (besides the dealer) that can/is willing to do an alignment on newer BMW's? I used to take my cars to firestone and just have them do a lifetime alignment, but they don't want to touch any of the new BMW's. If so, how much did you pay?

would anyone be interested on going in on renting a dyno for an hour? its $125 out at a place called Ziptie in Murray. i think we can get a decent few run even with three cars. PM me if interested.

http://www. ziptiedynowerks. com/
They told me that my E39 M5 was putting something like 180 to the wheels (corrected).... to which I responded "if my car was only putting 180 down, my dash would look like a xmas tree"

Also, at one of their dyno days, They ran a CTS-V and said that it put down about 240 and then put on a Kia Optima and it apparently put down 220.... so yeah.... I dont have much faith in Ziptie. Also, I watched them just destroy the paint on a Supra from strapping it down too much. So yeah... The owner george is a great guy, but I just don't think it's worth the money. UNLESS you want a base map, then do some mods and see what you gained. Thats the only thing I see it being any use for.

I've heard mix reviews on Ziptie. I hear they have the cobb dyno along with someone who works with Cobb on a regular basis. Then, I hear all the drama they had with Rob's Speed Shop and such.
