Like you said, it could be the spark plug or coil itself. Perhaps something else but testing those two would be easier to determine if they are at fault. You could swap coils with another cylinder and see if the misfire follows the coil. You can do the same with the spark plug. See if the misfire follows it.

Isnt the Camber plate / toe for the wheel apparatus somwhere?
I had a misfired coil, found out when I ran a diag through my JB4. The misfired coil should be singular, no need the replace every one unless you have a psycological need to. I ripped out my mods and drove the rattlebox down to the dealership, after clearing the tuner codes of course. Cost me $50 Was Coild 3 and that what was replaced. Not sure what parts/tools are required here but I'd read around and ask questions. Maybe even get a hold of the service tech traiing guides. Those are pretty helpful and show up on e90 from time to time. Good luck |

Go in this order to diagnose: 1. get new plugs 2. swap coil pack from cylinder 1 to another cylinder and see if the misfire follows. 3. if that doesn't work, time to check your injectors. If they were already replaced through the injector recall (if applicable) get a coder to verify the injector coding is correct. You may need to pull cylinder 1 injector to get the code off the base. If it's a stray misfire, you may have to drive on it a bit longer to make it a more chronic event. hopefully new plugs will fix it. otherwise, it's an annoying painful process. Good luck.
