Looking at VB3's, 18X8.5 ET40 all around, spacers?

Want to be able to rotate front to rear, so it looks like I'm going to have to have a 40 offset all around, what size spacers will be needed for flush fitment, and should they just be required on the rear?

Thanks

that is the exact setup i have now but I am going to get staggered 19s soon. I had a 15mm spacer but I can imagine going up to 20mm.

Thanks, did you run any on the front? Have any problems with the 15mm and what brand? I dont want to have any vibration issues by running such a big spacer. Any pics?

As long as u have hubcentric spacers u will be fine. Mine are RSD spacers, I actually am selling them too if u are interested. No spacers in the front although I could put a 5mm was just too lazy. Here are a couple pics I have

If it was me, I'd choose another wheel that has ET35 to avoid using spacers at least on the front. I'd worry you may feel some unbalance through the steering wheel due to spacers on the front. Putting a 12mm good quality hub-centric spacer on the rear wouldn't be such a big deal.

Our VMR VB3's are offered in a 8.5 +40 offset.

OP,

If you run a high quality hub centric spacer, you will not have any kind of issues with vibrations. I would recommend looking into H&R, Rouge Engineering, and Macht Schnell to name a few...

You can run the 18x8.5 ET40 all around without any issues. As you can see if you'd like you run a more aggressive offset in the rear you can definitely solve that with the use of hub centric spacers. You can go anywhere from 5-10mm to be safe depending on how you want the rear wheels to sit. I'd recommend for you purchase the wheels and install them on the car. After doing so you can measure exactly the amount of space that you have so that you can determine what the perfect setup would be for you in regards to the spacers. I know we've been going back and forth via PM so feel free to let me know if you have any concerns.

+1

Just remember to measure up the distance between the tire and the inner fender to get the proper sized spacer for your vehicle

Thanks for all the input. In general, is 10-12mm about as big as you'd want to go without excess stress on components? I've also seen that alot of people recommend at least a 10mm so you have the same amount of hub lip for the wheel to sit on.

Quick question about vmr wheels as well, do I need conical lug bolts? Factory bolts are ball type correct?

I have the VB3's, 18X8.5 ET40 all around.
Just a bit confused on what size spacers I would need for the rears.

Just in this thread alone people have suggested 15-20mm, 5-10mm, 10-12mm..

you're getting varied responses because it all depends on how "aggressive" (or lack of) you want to be.

with a +40 wheel:
5-10mm = conservative people
10-15mm = semi-conservative people
15-20mm = semi-aggressive people
"just get new wheels with +20 or less" = aggressive people

Thanks for the clarification!

So I would be safe to run 15mm without the need to roll my fenders?

you'll rub in the rears most likely depending on your rear tire size. just get the fenders rolled (undetectable from the outside if done well) and you can still run proper sized tires too.

The best way to get the right spacers for your needs is to measure.

Depending on the tire you run, ride height your car is at, etc., the spacer size may vary a bit.
