e92, button near engine....?

Hey guys, have you noticed a black button when you open the e92 hood... its right like in the center top.. It looks like a little black box with a button sticking out of it. You can push it in & out. My car also made a weird swoosh sound when I pushed it. Anybody seen it?

Plastic cap for "-" terminal connector? but it's not really in the center...

Hood switch for the accessory anti theft alarm, the swoosh sound was waking the car up and control units coming to life.

Your post isn't very specific to begin with (a pic will help) but from what I gather you're probably referring to the hood position sensor located in front of the A/C air filter and behind the stock airbox.
