Just let me know whether you still want one with fins or just the plain one. Fins will take a bit longer, but not much. This mould is far easier to work with than the M-Tech! |

I am in for Pre-LCI single side exhaust with fins. Question, will the diffuser have a lip around the edge or will it be flush like the pictures you posted. I think some sort of lip/ridge would look great. Keep up the good work

Currently it's just flush without any lip / ridge. I will probably add one for the fins as it will complete the look. Will keep you posted. As I say, I'll be at the molders again on Monday to check on the work and make any further adjustments...

Only thing I'm worried about with the fin version is if it wont go well with a single side exhaust. If it does I'd get fins but I really am not positive on if it will look good like that.

Diffuser Update
Ok, was at the moulders this morning working on the final cutting line. Most of you will probably be happy that we changed it to not wrap around the sides of the bumper.
The 2 pics below are still rough, so please don't take it as an indication of the final product. But basically you can see the part as well as a line that I've put in to indicate the final cut. The line looks kinked, but that's just because of the profile of the bumper itself. When viewed directly it does have a perfect curvature - no kinks The right side (side without the exhaust) hasn't been done yet. We're concentrating on getting it right on the side with the exhaust opening and then we will create a template for the right side so that the cut is perfect - and so that it paves the way for the quad cut-out setup. Final part will be ready by Friday afternoon (cut, painted and polished) - so I'm going to go through on Monday morning again to check the final part (for quality and fitment etc.) If all is good, the work on the quad cut-out version and versions with fins will start. Final cut line indication: |

I'm liking that cut method without wrapping around the bumper MUCH better
You could even make that a slightly smaller radius to make more of a sharper corner on top instead of the sweeping radius you have shown... Great progress! I'm ready to buy when you get the final version (although I may wait to see what the finned version looks like 1st) So am I correct in assuming that it attaches with screws along the bottom and 3M tape along the top? Do the bottom attaching tabs/holes line up with existing fasteners, or will we have to drill holes in bottom lip of bumper and use cage nuts?

You're also spot on with regards to the fitting - it will line up with the existing fasteners at the bottom of the bumper and then have very thin 3M tape across the top to hold it in place. The Carbon Fibre is obviously very stiff, so it does hold in place nicely without it, but it does need it just to hold it 100% in place. |

Been quietly watching this thread and the product seems to be coming along very nice. Looking forward to seeing final installed photos and hear pricing. Do you have plans for an LCI 335i version (regular bumper, not M-sport)?

Glad to see your interest. I am interested in doing an LCI version as well. It is probably quite a way away though. First have to do the quad set up for the pre-LCI - then both versions with fins - then only will move on to LCI. Sorry about that... I'm hoping that things will speed up a bit now on the development front though. So keep checking back - maybe it happens sooner than you think... |

Still working on that - the moulder hasn't given me his final pricing yet. But it will be cheaper than the m-sport one that I already offer. That one comes in at $450 before shipping - and this one might be as much as $100 cheaper. Will let you all know as soon as it's ready...

Teaser...
Final part is ready, painted and polished up. Will be fitting to a local members car in the week for final fitment testing. Will keep you all posted... And as for the remaining options. Dev work has started on the quad cut-out and then both this one and a quad cut-out with fins. I'll have an update on all 3 of the new moulds on Friday next week - along with pics of the development pieces! Ciao for now |
