0.9% Financing from BMW
When getting my car serviced, the sales guy mentioned this 0.9% financing for 60 months which is a heck of a deal. Sales guy also said this is the first time he's seen BMW offer financing so low. My question is, considering the state of the economy, what are the chances this could return as we enter 2009?
Reason for me asking is that even though I would like to trade in my 06 325i right now and get an Xi, the trade is costing my $4K out of pocket expense and the earliest I can consider trading it in, is when the year turns (I'd have paid off the car sufficiently by that time). I realize the 0.9% deal ends July 31 but sales guy said BMW will offer it through aug for repeat BMW customers. |

Who knows if this will linger into 2009 (IMHO things will turn around by then).

Looks like BMW extended the 0.9% after all! My vehicle is in transit and should be here before Sept.

Likely they may extend 0.9% to 2008 vehicles only as long as they have excess inventory on the lots. Note the wording in BMW's ads all explicitly state the year 2008 and not just the model. |

0.9% Financing and Free Auto Transmission offer was extended until Sept 2, 2008 on 2008 Models today on August 1st.
Since orders for 2009 Models will really begin in August since there are no more 2008 allocations, wonder if they will let you bargain for 0.9% Financing. Cheers, |

BMW finance does not bargain and dealers are at their mercy, no other bank is going to offer anything under, say, 6%. Also, there is zero probability of BMW finance offering .9% financing on facelifted models until the end of their model run. BMW is signficantly reducing the number of cars offered to the US because of the crappy dollar/economy. The objective is to reduce supply in response to lower demand to stabilize price. With that said, negotiate for all you can, that's what they do.

BMW will be cutting 40,000 vehicles out of the USA allotment (and also cutting out the X7 altogether)... and it will be much "tougher to drive a deal" for the MY09s. |

I don't think it is for orders. . .but I think if the car is delivered before Sept 2nd the dealer could reenter the car into the computer as a lot car instead of an order and then get the financing for you. . .but they don't have to. My dealer did that for me in July. I think it was a combination of us getting along, and our deal being fair, i.e. I didn't grind him down and we moved rather painlessly through negotiations to a fair price for both parties.

My car comes in next week. I am getting the rate too! I am pretty sure that it was brought out to move the 2008s only. They certainly don't want too many of those around when the 2009s hit.

The economy is not great but BMW is down 6.9% new but up over 17% pre-owned. It has NOT hit BMW hard at all. In fact my dealership is 26% up in sales this year. To be honest I should make about 10k MORE than last yer. BMW is not effected as much thats for sure.

The financing rate you pay is the one in effect once the car arrives from Germany to the US dealership. It is not the rate when you place the order 6+ weeks in advance. The rates are usually good for 60 days so your CA should lock in the best rate within a 1-3 weeks or so before your car arrives. If they know it is going up in a few weeks they can lock in the earlier lower rate.
0.9% rate offer is only for 2008 models to clear inventory before the 2009's Models arrive in October. Free Auto Transmission too. M3 is excluded from this offer. It was extended from July 31st to Sept. 2nd. Maybe it will be extended again to include 2009 models. Cheers |
