I am in the middle of removing my factory charge pipe and have a question. I plan to install an er pipe using factory dv.

I am to step 4 in the er instructions, and am unsure what to do here.

Am I to remove the elbow to the right attached to the factory dv pipe by breaking those clips with slits in them?

Then remove the charge pipe from the throttle body and remove the factory map sensor?

Remove the stock charge pipe and the elbow as a whole. (if that is not possible then the elbow on the right has one time use worm clamps. You will need to cut them to remove it). You can replace them in the future if necessary with over the counter worm clamps from any auto parts store.

Replace with new ER Charge pipe and install Factory DV on them.

The stock DV route back to the intake inlets.

You will re-use stock C clip on throttle body and O-Ring.

Be careful when removing the vacuum line connected to the intake manifold. The nipple on the intake manifold is EXTREMELY fragile. I think you can avoid taking that off but it's been a while since I went from stock to modified on an N54.

Does the elbow stay connected on both ends?

To the charge pipe and piece to the top?

Yes. If I recall that elbow on the right is just a resonator (muffler). So it does not connect to anything else.

I'm getting a little lost in your questions.

Just remove everything connected to your throttle body and replace with the new stuff. The only thing you are re-using is your C clip on the charge pipe that connects to the throttle body, O ring, and stock DV.

Oh and yes you will re-use factory map sensor.

Just confuses me because I don't understand what er is talking about on the attached text

I realize the cp is attached to the lower ic pipe and throttle body, but I don't see any clamp on the lower ic pipe connection that resembles what er is talking about.

it comes out alltogether its much easier that way make sure you resue the O ring otherwise your gonna have to re do it like i did take your time.

I'm not sure why you are confused. It seems they just added an unnecessary step. Take it out as one piece.

To do an install:

You need to remove all the factory hardware and replace with the new.

The only thing re-used I have listed above.

Resonator is killing clearance.

The wire will not release. Not sure what I'm doin wrong.

an old usb cable is a great tool to use to pry the little clip part up and remove the T-Map.

Done about 30 mins ago

Not thrilled with how the small elbows work connecting the factory dv to the pipe. It's ok, but I could see it popping off in future.

So, did not remember to install the large O ring in the ER pipe, so now i get to look forward to opening it up again and re-installing this part. hope to be able to get to it this evening after work.

seems to be holding boost fine for now, so at least i can drive it as is

c clip doing a good job keeping it stable.

problem was i was following this guide

and it didnt mention the o-ring, which i realize is because it is s different brand of charge pipe that has a rubber elbow connector instead of the same grooved connector as the ER pipe. FML haha

Ya the o-ring is important to prevent leaks under high boost

The C-Clip with o-ring is the best mounting system. I am not a fan of the silicone coupler on the throttle body.
