iPad mini
I think it is actually pretty cool. Wish it was around $250 though. It seems like a good size iPad. Anyone else picking one up or already have one.

Yeah it's totally overpriced, but then again, it's an apple product and you tend to spend more for such a premium product.
How about checking out the Nexus 7 tablet? Much cheaper and does the same things! |

Wish the price point was alot lower. With it only being $80 away From the iPad 2 it's almost not worth it. I know the mini has some added features that the 2 doesn't have but IMO they aren't big enough to make a difference

my dad got one. He originally ordered the new ipod touch last week. The iPad mini he got was almost the same price, so it was a no brainer for him to return the ipod touch and get the mini iPad.

I originally had no interest in the mini, since we're full up on regular sized iPads already. But I saw one in the Apple store, and I have to admit that it is a great size for tablets. If they'd had that out earlier, I would have bought at least one instead of the regular size.

I use my IPad all the time...like right now. But the price is too much and I just don't see the reasoning for making a IPad smaller and selling it for barley any less money. (Well besides it being something new and different so people just have to have it) I have an IPhone 5 for all my small task and I bought an IPad to have a larger screen and basically a mini laptop. I have a nice desktop for schooling and everything else. I think it's dumb to own one especially if you already have an IPad. My 2 cents.

I'm 100% Android(phone, tablet, and windows PC for what that's worth). I personally have no issues with Apple products... though do enjoy the occasional debates with my Apple friends. |

I bought the iPad 3 when it came out. Biggest waste of money ever. I have an iPhone 4S and a MacBook Pro with Retina. Those do everything iPad does, and better. I gave the iPad to my mother and she uses it to read books. I'm glad it wasn't a total waste.
The iPad mini is the same thing but smaller. It's pretty cool but I have absolutely no use for it. Until they release a tablet that can replace my MBP with Retina, I don't see myself becoming a tablet user. |

Depends on that you're going to be using it for. The tradeoff is whether you want something portable (mini) or something faster (4). The iPad 4 is about twice as fast as the mini and has retina display. You also get the option to get a 4G/LTE model with the 4 whereas the mini comes with WiFi only. There's also a pretty big price difference: mini starts at $329 and the 4 starts at $499.
If you like the size of a regular Ipad but don't want to spend the $499 and were already considering the mini, you could just get the Ipad 2 for $399. The technology used in the mini is almost exactly the same as what's in the Ipad 2 (processor, memory, screen resolution). |

i think if you're out and on your feet a lot, and want something like a netbook, an ipad fits the bill.
me: my main machine is an hp 15.6" c2d laptop (only $650 in '09, still rockin'). i'm home often, and when i'm out i enjoy not being online |

The only part that annoys me about this release is that they purposely didn't put the retina display in the mini. Release the best product possible at the given time, not something that you are intentionally releasing without technology that's been in other devices for almost 2 years.

I was really close to buying an iPad 3 until I realized it was identical to my iPhone 5 and my iPad 1st gen only lays around... I think I'm gonna order the Microsoft surface instead. The iPhone is the only apple product I use and probably will forever be the only.

I'm going to be in the market for a tablet pretty soon. Any thoughts on the differences between iPad and Samsung Note 10.1??? I know the Android software on the Samsung is a lot more customizable, but is it a better product? These are the 2 tablets I've mostly been thinking about.
Anyone played around with both? Thoughts? |
