100,000 miles requires:

New spark plugs
Change diff and trans fluids
Drive belt (just for good measure - it's inexpensive and easy to change)
Engine Air Filter (the change interval is about every 50,000 miles)
Cabin Air filter (might as well do it since you'll have the cowling off to do the plugs)
And a brake fluid flush if the CBS is calling for it.

The CBS and brake system will tell you other maintenance items and if the brake pads need replacement.

Read the manual - it tells you all this information too. (see Track Rat - I was nice this time).

I thought the title said high mileage.

I'd throw in Power Steering and Coolant too. I know the manual doesn't call for it, but it is easy to do and the car is at ~100K.

Trans fluid -- Thought the consensus was do not change unless it has been previously changed (highly unlikely) or else you're asking for trouble.

Shit, I totally forgot about the coolant. And I posted the DIY for doing it! Ha!

When changing coolant, change gasket where the oil filter and radiator top hose attach to block. See DIY sub-forum.

So the bottom line here is the car has a condition based maintenance system that indicates when the car needs service for specific items, such as engine oil, brake fluid, cabin airfilter, and spark plug changes, and brake pad replacements. What it doesn't doesn't indicate is transmission fluid, differential, and coolant changes. If you read the manual carefully it says those items are considered life time fluids but that they should be changed at 100,000 mile intervals. The engine airfilter change interval is even more cryptic, the manual says it should be changed at every third oil service. Since the standard oil change interval (OCI) is around 15,000 - 18,000 miles, that means the engine airfilter gets changed every 45,000 - 54,000 miles (I split the difference and change mine every 50,000 - which is pretty much industry norm now).

I don't think coils have a service interval, but count on those failing past 100k. They're about $60 each. Oil filter housing gasket will also leak, but very little. Mine has a leaky oil pan gasket and possible rear main seal as well. Leaks are common but really only need attention if it becomes excessive or leaks onto something important. Some others here have had problems with the eccentric shaft sensor failures too. Keep an eye out on suspension bushing and shock mounts. They're made of rubber so they will ware out eventually. Other than that, the N52s are pretty bulletproof. They'll have they're little cranky BMW issues but it won't leave you stranded.

There was a recent article in Roundel suggesting that if you change the tranny fluid for the 1st time @ 100k on a tranny that is working fine, it is at your own peril.

I would do everything else recommended here, except for that.

My shocks are going on my 330xi....feels like there are no shocks in the back actually. Like my car jut sits on springs... :/ Driving on off/on ramps sucks now.

BTW, I'm only at 63k.

To the OP: what needs to be done at 100K depends on what was done previously. If there is any way to accurately find out what services have been done, it's definitely worth it. In the absence of good info, assume nothing was done and use the recommended items in this thread.

For reference, I'm the second owner of an '06 330i that I bought 2 yrs ago at 107K miles. I had an indy shop (Turner Motorsport) do the old style Inspection II as well as a few other things right when I bought it. Since then, oil changes only, until today. Car runs fine but went in today (126.5K miles) for: oil+filter, air filter, cabin filter, diff lube, M/T tranny fluid change, power steering fluid change, coolant flush, brake line flush, new brake pads all around, front rotors, new battery, drive belt, and new wipers. I did all this as preventative maintenance and in prep for some track events this summer (hopefully).

Treat these cars properly and hope for the best. Good luck with yours.
