I suppose one could even tap that signal to xtra speakers from the signal wires going in to the amplifier itself.
4 hours only for the amp and wires!
I have also thinked about powering the two rear speakers that I already changed with 2 Pioneer speakers+2 Hetrz tweeters. For the moment nothing done, just enjoying the current setup. There is also in plan to change the underseat subs to SWS-8.

In the other hand the output of your Alpine may be too high, for the retrofit amplifiers imput!
Thanks for the advice, so I cant just buy the retrofit mid ranges and tweeters from bmw then?

If I just swapped out the speakers for non OEM ones would it prove problematic? Are the same sized ones likely to just fit?

Sorry if this is off topic - if you guys think I should open a new thread please let me know!

For example would these slot straight in and would they be loads better than the standard Professional install?

My rear speakers are not OEM,the front speakers are OEM.You can also buy them separately(only the speakers) from BMW,I said e-bay because you can find cheaper or used speakers but in perfect condition.

I notice that after Alpine hifi kit upgrade, even if the sound has improved beyond my expectation, there seems to be lacking a centre point of coherence with the speakers. Perhaps a centre channel would sort that out. The speaker removed from the front door can serve as a centre channel speaker but how to wire it without another amplifier. Did some Google search and came to this site where a centre channel can be easily created by selecting the positive wire from the left side and the negative wire from the right side. The wires to be used are those going from the head unit to the Alpine amplifier and now the colour code is known to us after the Alpine upgrade. Thought I will give it a try and see if it has the surround magic. Thought I'll share it with you guys and get some input before I start the DIY.
The link to the site that gave me the idea.

Some attenuation may be necessary and here is the L-pad calc site.

Please do come with your thoughts and suggestions

Thought the following information might be of interest:

I was looking at one of the tweeters from alpine kit today - the sticker on the back is stuck over the top of another sticker. Having peeled the sticker off, the sticker underneath reaveals a 'logic 7' logo and the part number:

65 13 6 964 013

The tweeter included within the kit is therefore indeed exactly the same as that in the logic 7 option.

Thank you

Thanks Zoltan!

I just wonder: would it be possible (depending on the Alpine specs, of course) to power up the bass speakers on 2 channels and the front & back speakers on the remaining 2 channels?
I mean it shouldn't be that difficult to connect front & rear before connecting to the amp and leave 2 channels purely for driving the bass

Can anyone confirm definitely that if you order the E90 door cover strips the foam triangles come with them. Alternatively, are they already behind the existing trims - don't want to take door apart twice.

Many thanks

Having read the thread I have decided to take the plunge and also get this setup. I thought why not seeing as I am also swapping my interior from standard cloth to m sport leather.

Will post some pics once done.

I'm thinking of doing this upgrade, however already have a 4CH Alpine amp and all the wiring imaginable. Will Bmw sell just the Alpine speakers without the amp and wiring harness??

Well, the tweeters in the Alpine kit are actually the Logic 7 tweeters from the Logic 7 setup (with new labels). I'm not sure if the Mids are the same or if they are Alpine items.

So, I would suggest the best thing to do is buy the Logic 7 (Top Hi-Fi) versions individually from a dealer (I think they are sold individually so you would need two of each):

65136964013 - Logic 7 Tweeters
65139142512 - Logic 7 Mid

Both part no's taken from Real OEM

Rich

Yep, and about £200/230 ish + VAT for the Alpine kit. Depends on the dealer and the level of discount they may offer.

I'm waiting on one of the Saloon door mouldings at the moment, the drivers side was on back order. Fitted the rest of the system in about 5 hours yesterday. Worthwhile improvement and sounds better than a friends e90 with the "Hi-Fi" (next up from standard) system.
