Hello,

getting for the last 24hours the red warning light: electric steering wheel lock faulty.

apart from trying to get an appointment at BMW or indy garage for a check, what would you recommend?

an estimate of 900 euros will do

shame on BMW for having issues like that and they did not recall and replave the defective locks under warranty

Its the electric steering lock not engaging properly, its a well known fault so push for warranty or goodwill. Need to get it sorted asap as if lock breaks in the on position it will be a nightmare. Sometimes they replace parts or sometimes its just a reprogramming issue.

You should get free parts as it is a known fault. Tell them so.

I had to pay the labour at £140 or so.

Same for the brake DSC failure parts.

I had a similar experience although the warning light was amber. Dealer replaced steering column under warranty. Problem sorted.
