I had 2 runs and had meth cut out problems from sir getting in the lines (have since got a new system) and hit 512 Hp. With the meth cutting out I was furious...I crumpled up the slip but it in center console (had every intention of keeping it)....wife cleaned car and can you guess where my slip went? Yeah right in the trash! My fault

Rob, That looks like a lot of shit to do I am second guessing about doing it myself. If I were to start early in the morning could I have it done the same day? Not rushing; I am very mechanical 20+years Aircraft mechanic USAF.

Answering your question it takes BMW techs around 16 hours to swap turbos, though you could probably get it done in less time if you are familiar with doing the swap. I'd say at least 12 hour job. |

w tech's could do it fatter, plus they usually don't replace every O-ring/gasket. They also do not replace water pump/thermostat.

Wow! Epic Rob...something to consider if and when my stock turbos die. In all honesty, there are very few threads I read completely but this is ONE of them. BTW...props to your wife for the assistance

I will say that I had my turbos replaced at Plaza BMW recently and per the work order they used all new o-rings and bolts where needed. They also replaced my WP, but only because they dropped it. All under cpo.
