I ordered the oiled setup but do these filter come pre-oiled? I just got mine and they seem kinda dry.

Hopefully my little research helped you with your decision.

Installation really is easy. I installed it in the parking lot 2 minutes after I got it.
lawdude strikes me as the lubricated type.

Not the Bubbles-type well-oiled machine, but slick enough.

Not to be difficult, but we have not seen a single dyno yet that shows more gains than the dual cones and this cost 3 times the price. Maybe I missed a dyno showing more power than the standard dual cones.

I am still curious as to why the aFe setup is any better than regular dual cones as well. I posted this in another thread, but didn't get many comments:

"Here is what I don't understand about the aFe intake vs. dual cones:

The aFe intake has a heat shield, but is not sealed to the snorkel like the stock airbox. Since there is no seal, why would any air travel into the snorkel and blow on the aFe filters? Without scoops on the front of the car forcing air into the snorkel, why would any air travel that way? Wouldn't the aFe filters just suck air from the surrounding zone, which is open to the drivers side of the engine bay? Surely its an easier path for the air to just come from the drivers side of the engine bay than all the way up the snorkel? It seems like the source of air for the aFe filters is going to be exactly the same as the source for regular dual cones.

I really want to be wrong about this, because I love the look of the aFe intake. But the engineer in me can't see how they would perform any different at all from regular dual cones. The fact that the snorkel is there pointing at the filters does not mean that is where the air is going to come from. The intake air is going to come from the path of least resistance, which looks like the drivers side of the engine bay."

The engineer in me agrees with the engineer in you... that something like the RPI intakes thing-a-ma-jig will help this work exponentially better.

The stock airbox "sucks" presumably cold (or ambient temp) air from the front of the car by way of the whole sealed system. Because the aFe system isn't sealed, it'll likely be starved of incoming air and probably suck hot air in from the engine bay. So pairing this with a ram-air type product is the best way to keep that from happening.

I wonder how a oiled AFE would be with my current SSTT? Or should I just get a SE drop in panel filter???

Congrads, I got mine as well (the dry version) along with swoop scoops. Perfect intake combo imo! Can't wait to install them, after I'll resolve my FP issue.

Mine did, check again there should be some mounting spots for it.

they can only price match with proof.. wtf?

why one will go buy from them if they can just order from themselves for the same price...? it's not that they will beat the price by $10 or anything...
