If you guys were all just cruisin I can see several circumstances that would effect the results of the "race".

In order to pull 10 cars on a properly functioning stock E55 from 60-110 (pretty short race) your car would have to be REALLY fast. there have been high 11s passes made in stock E55s. Lets just say it runs low 12's stock to be conservative, you didn't even race half of a 1/4mile and you pulled 10 cars??? I think you have the first 9s 335 in existence.

My take on it... Yea the 335 is a very tunable car and can be very quick with a few mods. I've seen quite a few in person and they are quick cars no doubt. But you have to keep in mind the E55 is no joke, right out the box. The only way I see a tune/intake 335 beating a renntech stage 1 car is if A) intercooler pump is bad (shuts off the supercharger when there are high IAT's) or B) There were lots of runs back to back and by the time he lined up with your 335 it was heat soaked and the high IATs caused the sc to cut off or C) It wasn't really a race. Did this renntech E55 have cooling mods? I'm not saying you didn't beat these cars on that day but there has to be a reason for it. I dont think your 335 is a mid/high 11s car with traps approaching 120mph with just a tune and intake.

And before you guys jump all over me because I drive a benz, I am not blinded by any one emblem or roundel. I am good friends with many BMW owners and would love to own a turbo BMW.

You're right. BMW has defied the laws of physics. Both friction and weight are now non events for the Germans. Look out world.

I don't mind if this was a JB3, V3, Attache or whatever other tune. The outcomes of these races make 0 sence by numbers. I would love to see the videos of these runs.

The race was legit because I went to the GTG to meet and race these guys. The Renntech 55 just had a dealer service and got a clean bill of health. The owner said his car is running very strong and he even beat a stock E55 on the way home after our race.
This is how it went down:
All 5 of us met on Sunday. We talked and spoke for about an hour and then decided to go do some freeway rolls. All of us carvaned to the freeway at very slow speeds so we could line up and get good legit race. The E55 and I slowed down to 60mph and did the three honk launch. For a brief second we were dead even but by 110mph I was two car lengths a head. After that I was a little shocked, we drove to go get some drinks and talk about it. The Renntech E55 divers said his car pulled hard like always and it was a fair and legit race. I don't think you can compare a 1/4 mile race to a 60mph freeway roll.

I used to own a 210E55 with a supercharger and Meth spray so I am familiar with the 211 crowd. The other "stock" E55 I raced I killed but I also mentioned in my first thread that the car must have had something wrong with it. The owner is taking the car into the shop today. I never said I beat a good working stock E55 by 10 car length, you just didn't read my post.

So there you have it, believe it or not.

I believe it.

I saw an E55 AMG on the Bay Bridge the other day...came out of the tolls pretty fast (sounds real cool), but wanted nothing to do with me. When I quickly came up on it, "hip-hop" nearly had whip lash looking out the passenger side window. Too much traffic to do any real runs anyways...

I'm the 2005 SL600 owner....

Here's my thread from MBworld.org
Quote:
05' SL600 vs w211 E55's BMW 335i 06' C6 w/Supercharger

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After Calabasas Euro meet today.............

Hey it was great meeting you all! Krazzeee results from multi races Danny (W211 BEAST) deff must have a failing intercooler, (MJ50) got beat by Mario's 335i by 2 lengths he told us he has a Renn pulley & ECU

I used 100 octane mix & pulled Danny by 10+ lengths Mario also beat Danny by 5+ lengths Mario didn't use RACE GAS...

Best part!!!! Mario's bro came out w/heavily modded C6 Corvette longtube headers Supercharged etc... My SL600 ran DEAD even w/him on (2) races he's putting down around 500 rwhp so he must've suffered from the heat or something, though he said it felt strong He's run a 12.00 flat @ 118+ mph on a CA 1/4 track..

I think my 600 tt likes RACE GAS Today was great, you w211 guys better watch out for modded 335i's today deff proved there a MAJOR SLEEPER

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't see Mario's race where he pulled 10 lengths, I pulled 10 lengths but lifted from the throttle twice, I could've pulled him by 15+, he said they ran again during 1 of my runs w/C6 Vette, thing is we both know the kids car wasn't working right also the kid said his rpm's got stuck @6k during his other race w/Mario, another note the Renntech stg 1 car that Mario beat by 2 lengths ran Danny's stk E55 again on the way home & beat it again, he didn't run another/different healthy stk E55, Mario must've missunderstood that part..

He also didn't add this part of my other thread after my SL600 had all the repairs done to it..
Quote:
05' SL600 vs 07' 335i pt. 2 + CL63 side race

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well Mario & I raced in mexico again, 1st race from about 20mph thru about 100mph SL600 pulled him by about 3/4 of a length then we shut down (surface streets)

Highway 2 lane from about 50-125mph as close to dead even as you can get!! we repeated 3-4 times it was excellent fun! I think Mario will agree @ triple digit speed I SLOWLY started to walk him..

My SL600 was notably quicker after repairs, I lost traction on all our runs for a micro moment, Mario's 335i had same listed J3 software plus mods and Torco (race gas) my SL was BONE stock except for cat-back straight pipes, I didn't use ANY RACE GAS AT ALL...

I'm sure if Mario didn't use race gas he might lose by a length or so, as we both agreed it's worth 15-20 rwhp on a Turbo car...Mario's 335i is NO JOKE!!
Here's Mario's quote from my Calabasas Euro meet thread..
Quote:

Also on my race w/Supercharged C6, Mario lined up w/us but said he just gave up when we started pulling on him so we didn't include that in thread, I don't doubt the C6 Vette must've been heat soaked but my 600 really felt strong w/race gas, I'd love to race Mario again while I use Torco & he doesn't, then both of us use torco, I'm sure it would make a different outcome than running dead even again...

My second run was against a 211 E55 with Renntech Pulley, ECU and exhaust, to my surprise I pulled on him by two car lenghts, we raced from 60mph to 110mph.

Everyone was shocked by the performance of the 335i with just a JB3 and intakes. I think this weekend is going to be a rematch but maybe I will use 100 octane just to make the Benz guys feel worse.

After that we saw "Death Race"

ok it happened I guess, Im' just saying it shouldnt......not if both cars are doing what they should be doing.

Your JB3 335 should trap in the 112 to 114 range at max. That e55 should trap 118-121 max........that is a LARGE difference in trap speeds that really shows in a highway pull especially. the e55 should pull you hard on a highway roll, right from the start. My 335 is putting out more HP than yours based on your mods, and I get killed by e55's w the same mods. thats all.

good run.

a newer e55 amg (5.5L supercharged) will run a mid 12 second pass BONE stock - which is what a jb3 335 car will run... a e55 with a pully and tune is capable of 11s....

If your friends is an 05 then is a W211 E55. You can beat with AFE, JB3 and 96 octane. If you have time and the money get the catless DP's

Sounds good to me, but where would we meet? We are about 200 miles away from each other. Oh, there is a chance I will be going to SD in 3-4 weeks for work. If you can wait, maybe then.

wow very nice.......but it weighs more, still surprising though, I thought they would pull harder top end.......guess not......

As for the comment concerning BMW defying physics...... I think Nissan defied the Space Time Continuum with the GT-R (the next Back to the Future Car)
