raced my first C63 tonite!!

did a small 40mph to 110 mph race with a C63 AMG tonite, it was a dark charcoal color black interior 2 people inside, was about neck and neck with the car the whole way until i let off!! i was pretty surprised it wasnt faster.

i have a AFE intake, SSTT and was running quarter of a tank of GT100 100 octane straight.
also on 18's and im a AT e92 335i, i was by myself.

gotta say it felt awesome to stick with him and man, tonite was pretty cool, man o man did the car feel STRONG!!!!

was just some good fun. love this car.

Nice! The C63 AMG's are good for mid 12's @ 114mph, so you should be right there or close. From a roll, I could see you hanging with him, but from a dig, he'd probably have you by 1 CL...they supposedly run 0-60mph in 4.1 sec.

i wasnt sure if my SSTT would be able to hang, but i guess the AFE itake and 100 octane def gave me the extra power needed to stick.

So lets see. A C63 kills an E92 M3 in straight line, yet a 335 with a turbo tuner, some race fuel, and intake stays even? Amazing.

maybe b/c of the fact that it was from a roll that he was able to hang during the time he was stepping on the gas.

You're probably right. I mean, it's pretty amazing to beat a C63 considering how much of a brute that thing is, but from a roll, who knows.

one the members BALLZ raced a C63 4 times, he has V3, RRDPS, RPI intercooler and FOrge DV i think, he either was even or beat him by one car everytime. he might me manual aswell

on the other hand i was using a AFE intake, SSTT w/ 100 octane, AT only me vs 2 people in c63.

i haven't run one yet, but understand they are fast.
I have run an E63 AMG and I hung right with him.
But the E63's are heavier, but have the additional 55+ hp that offsets the weight increase.

I've seen on Top Gear the C63 pull away from the E92 M3 6MT though.

I'd have to say though, with even a weaker tune like the SSTT, having it, an intake, and 100 Octane in your tank would keep it close.
The fact the C63 also had an additional passenger (who knows maybe 200 additional lbs) hurt it too.

Not sure the altitude in Austria where you ran, but if you were at anykind of altitude too, that also helped the 335i more.

Like an V10 M5, the 6.2 liter engine in the AMG's get stronger as you start to get into triple digit speeds.

I did beat a c63 as you can see here in this thread.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161081

If you read that thread i forst raced him NON V3 and had no shot

Then we raced a day or two ago v3(93pump) plus all other mods and pretty much had a cl everytime. He said after 140 he thinks he will creep back up but he went on vacay so i gotta wait a week till he gets back to see about that. I will tell you right now they are powerful cars but we can beat them!

This is actually correct. A forced induction engine will not get as effected by altitude as a N/A car will. Its a noticable difference. Plus he was running 100oct. These two factors would give him a great advantage.

We are still a bit from the Porsches, haha...

2008 Porsche 911 GT2
===============================
0-60 = 3.9 seconds

2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS
=============================
0-60 = 4.3 seconds
Quarter-mile = 12.2 at 115.6 mph

CONCLUSION : in other words, you can almost match their speeds (Lexus IS F and C63) just by getting the JB3..

so if you have other mods, you will probably be close to equal..

But also you guys got to remember..

This is the 6.3 liter V8 out of the S63, E63, CLK63 etc. The difference there is 50 hp from the C63 and E63, S63 etc. I went on mbworld.org and was reading about how the only difference that made the 50 hp gap was because the car was too fast so they dubbed it down with a more restrictive intake and a couple of other small things then the E63, S63, etc. with their 507hp horsepower compared to the C63's 451hp. I mean yea we have some fast cars, but just wait til' RENNtech comes out with a chip, intake, headers, etc. I think they will be hitting at LEAST like 450whp.. on 93 oct.

+1 the kid I raced said he can buy basically the ecu from the e/s 63s and gain about 30-50whp for only 1500 and its not the ripoff renntech one. Either way they are strong cars but stock I have beatin one and will continue too.

They already have come out with a tune for the C63.

Kleeman also has a pretty badass tune for the C63 (perhaps the best available now) out as well. It has yielded results of 424.4 rwhp so far.
