Zaino Vs Rain X for windows

Hi to everyone...

I was wondering if it's worth to apply Rain X to the windshield.

I usually use zaino when doing the rest of the car, even though I get regular results.

I stopped using RainX a few years ago because of the haze over time when it ages. I've been using Zaino ever since on everything - paint, plastic moldings and glass. Beads like crazy on glass and doesn't haze up as it ages. I personally love it for glass.

You use Zaino Z2 on the windshield or the Zaino glass polish?

Z2 Pro, same as the paint. I use Z8 on it after every wash also.

Seems to me that Zaino hazes in the windshield after a while too.

I've never had it haze over time. Super, super thin layers.

Try Aquapel, trust me! I can't believe how little I've been using my wipers lately. The first time I used RainX, I was pretty impressed, but this stuff is significantly better.

Just FYI for those that give it a shot: Spend a good amount of time to clean the windshield thoroughly. I used 2-3 coats of Rubbing Alcohol with with some good, clean rags and then dried the last coat with a microfiber. They recommend removing it immediately to avoid hazing, but I let it sit for a little while. Using another microfiber to remove the semi-dried liquid cleaned it completely.

I use the Zaino Clear Seal, but Z2 should work as well.

I generally put Zaino (Z2, Z5, Z6 even, etc....) on every time I wash and wax and then about once every six months put a coat of RainX on top of that. Works pretty well.

What he said. Aquapel lasts up to 6 months with one application. Aquapel Rocks!

+3 for Aquapel. No hazing, no skipping wipers like with Rain-X.

Clean your windows thoroughly before applying and it will indeed last 4-6 months.

Why am I always nervous dealing with those "as seen on TV" stuff?

Rain X is fine. Just remember to do a quick cleaning and apply a new coat on every 3 weeks or so. I got a lot of hazing before I start doing that.

LOL, me too, but PPG Aquapel is sold at many detailing stores and is a very good product used for years on car and aircraft windshields.

In any case, here's a Rain-X versus Aquapel link: http://www.autoblog.com/2006/04/17/r...-grudge-match/
