Need help with dropping my e90! im in a big predicament here..

Im looking to drop my RWD e90, its currently on stock sport suspension. Ive been searching around for a spring a shock set up, and it looks like i want to go "BRAND NEW" H&R sports with Koni yellows..nice clean drop (on non-xi's).

However... should i go with a set of "USED" pss9 or kw's off this forum?? it will cost around the same, but what would you think has a better ride, or actually better fit my needs..

----> First off, i will NEVER track my car, im just a daily street driver. im just looking for an aggressive look with a more comfortable rather than stiff ride, i live outside of boston so stiffness with our roads here wont go so well.
How does the spring and shock set up/coilovers compare to stock sport?? better or worse?

Also is it worth going used coils?? For instance whats there lifespan before they start wearing out, cuz people sell them with like 10,000 or so miles on them.

Another thing that might persuade me about doing coils is in the winter i can easily swap my suspension back to stock so they wont deal with salt and dirt road grime. Whereas with spring and shock, i would probably just leave them on, and not deal with the hassle. But i have heard of a spray to use on your suspension for winter, however not too sure on this though.

Thank you for reading this and please let me know what you think, any ideas or responses greatly appreciated...thanks

You could always get the performance suspension on clearance from tischer .. for 180 bucks .. then some H&R Sport springs for around 200 ...

I have this combo and will be installing on Monday

You want the Koni's, and get them both new (springs and shocks) the Koni's are awesome shocks and for your purposes offer a good range of ride comfort adjustability.

I havent had 1 complaint about the setup ive put in clients cars, the only thing I would change is using Eibach Prokit springs instead of H&R - due to Eibach being a linear spring that will offer an overall more comfortable and predictable suspension.

I am in the same predicament except I am putting on 20" Vossens...I feel like I will need the height adjustability on coils to avoid rubbing

If you don't really care about messing with the height after the install, I would do a shock and springs combo.

If you think you might want to lower it (to be gangsta approved) or raise it for road trips then go with coils.

You said it yourself, imo its not worth buying used suspensions since they go out eventually. Id rather save a few hundred more and get it new. Good luck with your decision OP

I used to have Vossens, in 20" they were very easily fit on an e92 sport package and on my e90 with Eibach sportline springs. If you stick with a H&R Sport or Eibach Prokit you will be fine, and the Koni will let you adjust how the suspension travels also. There shouldn't be an issue with this setup for 20's either.

What is that??

I think im going to go with the h&r sports on koni yellows. theres nothing but good reviews about this set up. however what about the fsd's? the only down side i hear is they arent good with lowering springs.
