Performance opinions and power gains
Hi everyone, I am fairly new to this form. I have recently acquired my 06 325xi Touring. I love the car, but I have to say that the power is a bit on the lacking side, specially with the all-wheel drive system making the car heavier. I would like to think about some options that I have to increase the power, but I also wanted to understand how much truly I can expect from simple bolt-on's and retuning. If I had the choice I would supercharge it, but I don't see any kits available for this engine.
Thank you for your help and your comments.

Im sad to say that they have discontinued/ nor ever made any sort of performance gain items for a 325. I would just trade the car back in, sorry to be the one to carry bad news.

I am fairly new as well, but from what I have read the 3 stage manifold with an tune seems to be fairly significant for a 325. Being in Canada, I don't know what engine you have but I am sure others will.

People say you can't get gains out of the 325i but you can.
AA tune Simoto or Euro box intake Exhaust system (I just have a muffler delete and it sounds great w/ no drone) 3 stage manifold CYBA intake scoops FLAMES! |

let me add another thing, upgrading exhasut on wagon will be a lot louder then sedan, so you might want to pick more milder sounding exhaust if you cant standing loud one.
btw does Canadian 325 come with 3.0 engine?

The three stage intake manifold from the 330i and an ECU tune from Active Autowerke should get you started. The combination seems to be the best gains per dollar you can get. Ive done it and wished I had done it much sooner.

+1 on the 3 stage intake manifold swap plus ECU tune. You can get a solid + 30 HP with that! Talk to MaximusJ, that guy has taken a 325i pretty far!

I recommend ECU remapping + bmw performance air intake + bmw performance exhaust ( dunno if it's available for the xi) . personally i didn't try the combination yet but i read so many good new about the parts individually and i'm going to apply them on my 330i this summer... if i saved some money :P

Thanks for all the replies. Does anyone have actual dyno numbers to prove some of the Intake / Exhaust / Software / Intake Manifold gains???

Bmachine, got any dynos? From your numbers, you're putting out around 282-290hp at the crank (15-18% drivetrain loss)

On Monday you were asking about nitrous in this thread. Then a day later you put the kit up for sale claiming yesterday you made 321 horse power & 318 lbs. of torque in this thread on a dyno. -Nate
