Totaled 330i Looking for new car.

I just recently lost my baby in a car accident. This f*cker making a left turn going the opposite way didnt yeild on the green light and hit me going about 30 I was going around 45 but anyway the car is totaled and I need help on deciding which car to get. i've come down to a 2007 335i with sports package and premium package with a 6 spd manual and black leather with montego blue the color. it is a sedan and has 28k miles on it, syill has cpo till 8/13 going for 24k. My father is pushing me towards a 12' si coupe with 6k miles going for about 22k. I really want the 335i but also dont want to run into some problems with the 335i and the better gas mileage would be awesome with the si. thanks for all the input!

Depends on what your looking for in a car... Those are two totally different cars, however, both great cars in their own respect. Personally I could not stand a FWD vehicle, where I like AWD is almost necessary but I would still go with RWD over FWD just because I dislike FWD vehicles. SI's are awesome cars though. What exactly is it that your looking for in a car?

Agreed.

Unless you can find a 335 that has CPO until the same time period as the SI I would go with the SI.

You want to have a date with a model but don't want the expense and fine print?? Good luck with that...

I believe BMW covers HPFP on N54 for 120K mi or 10 years since these pumps are known to have issues.

I don't think that anybody can answer your question, these two vehicles are completely different. If you want lower ownership cost over next 5 years, for example, go with Si. If you want ride quality and performance go with BMW.

Are you limited to these two vehicles? I would also consider E46 M3 and if you like Honda/Acura, TSX and TL (up to 08). Also think about leasing 128i if you want BMW with lower ownership cost.

The fact that you are taking gas cost as a variable tells readers that you have extremely limited budget and most likely a used BMW would not be a smart purchase at this time.

The 335i has very low mileage. I'm looking for performance but a good daily driver as well. I love BMW smooth 6 I can't really see myself driving the si. I already know everything about the 335i I plan to some mods not too much. I want the 335i but Idk if its the right choice.

Your heart says 335i but your brain seems to say Si. As long as you have the financial means to deal with potential mechanical/electrical hick ups with the BMW, I'd say go with the 335. Just saw the new Si on the fwy. Definitely not a fan of the styling.

I'd go with a CPO 2010 328i LCI sedan (assuming you want a sedan) with MT, sports pkg, and prem pkg.. Not as fast as a 335 but faster than a SI, same interior quality and handling as a 335.. bullet proof engine. The Si is a tin-can for 2012.. Drive one.. the 2011 model was a superior car.

Okay... I'm confused... Si? As in civic Si?

Lol is it really that hard of a decision vs. a 335i?

You're doing it wrong

Si - buy out of warranty
335i - buy with warranty

Why not another 330i?

If you're going to go with a 335, don't get an '07 unless you're prepared to have issues. And if you get a 335 make sure you've got a decent warranty on it.

I don't see an Si getting much better mpg than a 335, unless you have all hwy driving. You have to rev to like 5000 to get HALF the torque a 335 puts out at 2500.

Used 370Z though? Same performance as a 335, but with good reliability. If you have to get a Honda, get an S2000.

You could paint a dog turd montego blue and I'd be in love with it. I guess that makes my answer slightly biased...

Go with the si. I'd rather have a newer, low-mileage Civic Si than an aging N54 or N55 E9x that only had nine or ten months of warranty coverage left. No brainer IMO.

Ridiculous statement. I came from a succession of 4-cyl Acuras (Integra, TSX) and they both beat the pants off my (6MT) 335i in terms of gas mileage. It's not even close, man.
