5.8" via dynolicious, 1' rollout and a lazy shift into second.

I could easily do that if I destroy 2nd gear. Quarter mile was 14.2" @ 99. Don't forget 150k miles on the car. Full throttle to redline is hard on it, but slam shifting it is worse.

0-60 is a crap measurement anyway. depends too much on traction and how well you launch. 99mph in the quarter is moving pretty good. That tells me way more than 0-60 does.

And now for the main event! Here are the dyno runs. The first pic shows atmospheric conditions and the second pic shows max values. You can see the three stage intake manifold in action by looking at the torque curve. At about 3200 rpm and 4400rpm you can see the torque drop and rise quickly. These are the points at which the DISA valves open up. As each valve opens, the torque rises sharply.

@E90Pilot

Could you put dates and tunes on these dynos, (I'm having a hard time discerning what happened/when)

Also, did you take a baseline of OE's tune on DSR's DynoJet before switching the tune to AA? (also any baseline of your car stock?)

because, from experience a Dyno Dynamics dyno (used by OE) reads a lot less than Dynojets.

From top to bottom: AA tune, OE Tune version 1, Powerchip.

I don't rememeber the dates but I had the Powerchip tune first, then switched to OE tune, then to AA tune. Below is a comparison between the best OE run and best AA run on the dynojet. Sorry for the small fonts.

The 325i runs a similar A/F stock. The 325 runs more timing retard than the 330, but everyone knows you never run full retard.

I wonder if tune without 3stage intake delivers same results. In other words - are tuners able to utilize advanced intake features.

Ooo, wow, you were running way too lean throughout the entire OE pass! no wonder you were pinging/knocking.

Question (important): How many days from when you first got the OE tune to the day it started knocking?

I didnt notice it knocking on the drive home or on the dyno at Gintani. I did notice it the next day getting on the freeway. I thought it was just adaptation so I kept driving it. When it didn't improve, I took a look at the dyno and noticed a dip in torque at 2500 rpm. There should be a peak there. I leads me to believe it was knocking on Ginatani's dyno but we just didn't notice it. The car pulled timing so it stopped audibly knocking.

I wonder what the gintani tune was doing at ~5700rpm, where it jumped 15-20ft/lbs. I don't see a change in AFR. Looks like the AA tune is near perfect though, I'm going to have to jump on this soon!

That jump was a huge knock. You could totally hear it too from outside the car.

No. You have a 2.5L and the 330 is a 3.0L. The engines are fundamentally different.

Hmm... I'm not too familiar with the M54, but there are supercharger kits available. They've got cast iron blocks so they're really stout. I'm not sure about the rest of the components though. Of course there're the usual intake, chip, and exhaust.

Hi! I've read your conversion story and I have some questions.
What kind of active autowerk chip have you installed? I've found this one on their website http://store.activeautowerke.com/act...ware-p149.aspx

If you are using this device than may be it cares your ECU as 325 one, not 330? So it gains your stock power for 15hp as described by remapping existing 325 fuel maps. How this device can understand that you have replaced intake manifold? I think that may be it reads the model (325 or 330) from VIN number and appies an appropriate remapping to the ecu?
