Your opinion holds no water around here. That Nissan will leave you left for dead. It's superior in every way possible to your 328.

"Upgrade"?? In terms of speed capability, yes, in terms of many other things, absolutely not.

Tell me this, which would you consider an "upgrade" relative to the other: A GTR or an Aston Martin Vantage? Any please give a reason for your choice.

completely depends on what you are into

i wouldnt buy an aston martin with my own money because they are not that fast (non v12), expensive and unreliable as hell.

if you are into tracking your car and love performance, the gtr is an excellent choice. i wouldnt buy one, but i can respect them.

people want/care about different aspects of cars. fortunately we have tons of options as enthusiasts i personally love seeing a huge variety of cars on the street instead of everyone driving the same thing.

Very defensive. Many car guys are so sensitive and carry big egos, which is why this thread has gone this direction. Some bmw "enthusiasts" think of the car like their penis or first born child....don't dare compare it to anything or their feelings get hurt and they put up a wall of defense explaining why the BMW is alway better ranting about it's balance or this best all around BS. They act like they had some part in the design of the cars themselves and work for the company.

Not really. Just don't agree that the GTR is an "upgrade" to the M3. It is a totally different type of car with an entirely different purpose.

Can you believe that I looked at the GTR several times and still chose the M3?

Anyway, this thread is getting pretty near beat-to-death. I'm checking out.

Wow man, don't get all butt hurt because someone wants to share their new toy with the M3 community. Most of us appreciate many makes and models.
If you don't like the thread, move on..... Don't cry about it...

My Akra slip on will be for sale in the classifieds sometime soon and I must admit I will miss the sound of that V8. I just missed the exclusivity and presence of the Porsche, something a bright red GTR definitely helps to reclaim!

Thanks for all the advice on here regarding the M3 and various mods, it was all very useful and much appreciated. Maybe I'll jump into another M3 sometime down the line

Obligatory pics!
Congrats and Enjoy it!

Yes. An m3 isn't exactly a light weight. An e92 m3 weighs about 3700lbs and and e90 a little more. A 2012 GTR weighs 3820 so the difference is not more than 100lbs.

And the GT-R has more power so it absolutely leaves everything for dead off the line. The revised launch control works just like it's advertised.

Same dumb shit, different day.
That's a shitty analogy as stated before. The differential is not nearly as great. Maybe you should utilize your brain....before you start insisting people are dumb.

Actually 3571. 200lbs and a 50hp differential... I'd say thats pretty significant.

Ok Albert Einstein, that was rather verbose but utterly stupid. Bar none.. the diffential is not even remotely close so that why your analogy is stupid.

Assuming your turboed a civic to be as fast as a m3. Would it even hold a candle to the M3 in terms of styling, engineering, fit and finish, and handling? Absolutely not. The same can not be said about the difference between a M3 and the GTR.

If I wanted a straight performer.. I'd buy a z06.

Not according to BMW. Those are the numbers they quote. I don't know how you can be more accurate.

The newer z06 is more than a straight performer. It handles really well, esp. with the new magnetic ride technology in the z07 package. It will run you at least 80k, but they are not selling that well right so there are some good deals going on right now.

Oh.. I know it handles magnificently. That is what I meant by a straight performer. The GTR should lose its useless backseats and slim down a bit and then I'd be sold. I think a 2 seater variant could also be much more stylish. I think the 370z with the factory bodykit is a beautiful car.

Just FYI. You should probably tone it down a notch with the name calling before you get banned by the mods. You have not been on here very long so you are probably unaware that they take it pretty seriously. They allow a certain level of debate and criticism, but they do have their limits. I have seen it happen to other members.

I honestly don't really use them much, but the back seats are not useless and they are there if you need them. It's part of what makes the GTR more useful as a DD. They are not great but you definitely have more room than 911 rear seats. They work, esp for kids. You have to move the seats up for larger passengers.

Oh really? I see what you did there! SO clever. You really know how pull the rabbit out of the hat so to speak. Anyways, I'm done with these silly back and forths... you won the E-thugging debate, I commend you apparently you are a master of analogies, metaphors, and witty sarcasm. Yet you blatantly disregarded my valid point with regard to the lack of logic involved in your analogy. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I apologize for any offense.
