Xenon retrofit with headlight levelers
Hi all,
I have just bought a retorfit kit of euro xenon headlights and with the kit came a set of levellers for the front and back axle ![]() Today I installed the levellers according the instrucctions and found that the wiring included a pin 2 and 5 to be insertd into the headlight LF and RT. This wiring lomb will then go to the footwell module into one of the lower plugs. Now my doubts: - having these two pins for the headlight (ground and bi-xenon - pin2 and pin5) I no longer have to do the manual wire splitting on the headlamp nor the extra ground wire correct? - having a frmfa (frm1) module can I still go ahead with install (connect leveller wires to module)? As according the instructions I need a new foot module and light controller ![]() - do I really need a new light controller? I already have one with auto lights although it's for halogen and has the manual height adjustment? Thanks for your help |

Update
Just checked the frm module in the car and the pin locations are there!
Why does BMW say in the instructions that the module has to be raplaced? Are they just trying to make esasy $$$ ? Cheers |

I intend on getting the new light controller, the one that has no manual adjustment for the headlights, however my biggest doubt is wheather the frm module I have (frmfa) will work ok with the install.
As said before I have checked the pin locations and they exists, I am confused as why BMW insists on you buying a new module with the retrofit ![]() Thanks for the help so far ![]() |

From what Iīve gathered no, the levellers will work fine with the headlights.
Washers are however mandatory here in Portugal due the vechile inspection, i plan to have these put in after the xenon install, hopefully more to the end of the year. |

http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E9...ontrol_sensor/ The one on the left is for the front and the image on the right for the rear. Donīt forget to ask for the harness to connect to your FRM/NFRM module. Cheers |

![]() but the actual part numbers for sensor itself are the same? anyone got a breakdown of the part numbers for the xenon retrofit kit? also can an FRM module taken from an E92 / E93 (as they come standard with xenon headlights) be used for a E90 saloon pre lci xenon retrofit? Cheers |
