Just used it yesterday. Perfect for when I pick up my 2 yr old daughter, keeps it nice and cozy in there for her. Dropped into the 20s last night.

One thing to note is it won't activate unless the outside temp is below a certain degree, but I can't remember what it is.

25°C or 77°F

It's a fantastic feature and I've been using it a lot lately as it's been cold here. However, I was not aware you could leave the car with it running, must give it a try sometime.

Works GREAT when getting gas in the cold - keeps the interior warm when the motor has to be off!

I used it the other day and it's a nice feature. It was however below freezing outside and the fan was on medium/high when I got in the car.

How much battery does this thing really use? I'm afraid to use it too often because of battery life.

Just replaced the battery this year and don't want to have to replace it again for at least another 5 years.

I am guessing the only thing "on" would be the fan (blowing the residual heat from the motor). For the short time you use it, I can't see it draining too much from the battery.

Well, yes, the feature does work as advertised.

Parking in the sun also works, even more so if you slide back the sunroof visor.

It's probably my favorite feature that didn't make it into the LCI version of the car...along with the flashlight.

All the best.

Great feature.

However, I am surprised they didnt do a better job at "naming" it.

I mean, looking at the button, you would never assume "oh. hey, I can hit this button AFTER i turn my car off, and a small fan will blow warm air from the engines heat to keep my car warm"... i don't think "REST" spells that out, expeically when most people probably think it is to re-set their climate control

It runs the blower and water pump. But it will shut off if the battery gets too low, or if the water temperature drops off heat.

That's why the car comes with an owners manual, to explain stuff like that...

+1

Not to poke at you, but I think it translates pretty well. The control looks like it suggests it provides heat when the car is at rest. That's exactly what it is. But I know too that that's not a feature most folks would expect to find...which, of course, is why they should have left it there. LOL.

Well, now, I can't fault that logic. LOL.

I have it but I always worry that it'll kill or run down the battery. I'm pretty sure that my 2008 is on its original battery. I should use it though. It's -20 right now.
