Track Suspension Advice
Hi
Late last year after modding my car to FBO level - I started getting into taking my car to track day events - I have enjoyed it so much I am pretty much going at least once a month (track layout - http://www.hamptondowns.com/pages/65/the-circuit.htm) I have been running the track days on my Vossen CV3 wheels and Michelin PSS tyres - however as the car is still my daily driver - I can see that i am wearing those PSS out quickly Currently installed: I have KW V3 coilovers (lowered), Wavetrac LSD, Defiv Lockdown kit, AA Strut bar Now I am looking at improving a few things to help out 18 Apex EC-7 wheels on their way (will be my track wheels) I bought the 3 kits from Offset Motorwerks M3 Front Kit ( 31102283575, 31102283576, 31102283577, 31102283578, 37142283867) M3 Rear Kit (33322283547, 33322283548, 33322283545, 33322283546) M3 Subframe bushings (33312283382, 33312283383) Should I also order the M3 front and rear sway bars and have them installed a the same time? Should I do the M3 stut bar? ( I already have the AA strut) thanks

subscribed.... I'm going towards similar direction as you and was wondering about the front sway bar too.. I'm going to do the rear for sure but have been hearing mixed things about doing front sway bar.

Personally I think the m3 strut bar might be a little overkill with a bar already in place. Aftermarket bars triangulate the front end and actual make a difference.
And yes, absolutely do your sways. |

You only need the front M3 sway bars. No need to add the rear M3 sways. Also consider adding Megan Racing rear toe arms.
I agree with others about changing to M3 strut brace... you should just keep the one your already have.

thanks for the replies
After thinking and chatting to a few people - I do agree the M3 strut bar will be a overkill However - the sway bars are the ones I am undecided on due to the mixed reviews I see a few people just run the Front Sway and some run Front and Rear

Consider getting camber plates to increase your negative camber up front. Adding negative camber (-1.5 to -2 deg total) will noticeably improve your cornering ability; it'll also help even out tire wear as stock camber settings allow the tire to roll onto the sidewall quite a bit (uneven wear). Camber plates also help firm up the steering feel and input.
Finally consider getting a performance alignment from a shop that knows how to set cars up for a given track. I'd take a properly aligned car w/ stock everything over an improperly aligned car that had a bunch of upgrades. Advice from a track goer: a second set of wheels/tires is more economical if you plan to go to the track more than 2x a year. Talk to people at the track and see if anyone's selling; I bought my current track set off a race team for a bargain. Doesn't need to be fancy. 17"/18" work well.

After chatting to Harold @ HP Autosport
He's recommended that I only get the M3 front sway bar and the RE toe arms Will update once bits arrive and been installed

Go with Megan Racing toe arms. RE toe arms use spherical joints that will get noisy in a few months and then need rebuilding about once a year.

Echoing what the other posters have said - my RE toe arms went within a few thousand miles.
