Headlight washers not seating

I've posted this on uk sub forum but no luck yet can anyone help with this

Some times the washer jets for the headlights don't go all the way down by about 1/2 inch is there a fix for this or anything maybe get some oil in there or something I've seen others like it so know its not the only one but pi$$es me off when I see one still half up / down

The headlight jets are automatic when I use the window screen ones at night so not as if I can turn them off

Cheers

I have the same issue but the difference is that mine come out and the one on the passenger side stays out. Very annoying!!

I might try WD40 and see if that works.....it could be that the washer arm is sticking?!

Is it the arms that aren't going down, or the covers? They have springs attaching the cover to the arm that sometimes can get stretched out.

I think on mine it's the arm because one comes out and stays out and when I push it back in it seats flush to the bumper. The cover seems to be fine also so I think my issue is the arm.

this is happening on mine too. I suspect a good clean of any moving parts will sort it. they work on the water pressure I believe, so on the return journey back in it would not have any help other than a return spring, I have not looked yet just pushed them back in by hand.

I disabled mine via coding. The things were rather useless anyways (other than messing up my hood).

I haven't gone that far yet but I'm not too sure if it will affect my MOT if I did?!

I sincerely doubt they would be able to find that you did it. They would have to have the ability to pull your trace files form the JBBE in order to see that you changed the value.

That is, of course, assuming they do not check the function of the washers when you bring it in. If they do, wow! They are pretty thorough.

Yeah that's true! I would rather fix the issue though because I don't mind the washers. Having said that though I think my issue is fixed (well sort of) because it doesn't happen all the time so my guess is that all it needs is a bit of WD40.

OP mine did the same thing...it got stuck half way down not closing all the way...What I did is I got a long nose pliers and pulled it all the way up..sprayed WD40 on the arm retracting mechanism and released the pliers...Snapped the thing right back...just be careful of the washer cover and the spring it might come off, which I have to do on my first try...Hope it works for you.
