I had the job that made me paid enough to afford the car, but didn't like the job. Now I have a job that I LOVE, but cant afford the car.

Its like a vicious cycle.

This. I couldn't get around paying BMW a couple extra thousand for bumper with cosmetic differences, even though it looks much better and does have (perhaps) better function. We all know that BMW makes a killing on the options (car, too, for that matter), but I had to draw the line somewhere.

I figured I could always buy the bumper cover in the future. So now, of course, I keep an eye out for a good deal on one, just in case. LOL

I think it's more than that.

The M Sport gets:

Park Distance Control (rear only)
M steering wheel (+$100 for paddle shifters)
Anthracite headliner
Different wheels
Different front/rear valence

I think some other things that are not named such as the M sport step badges, black window lines, and some other tiny details.

None of which justify the upcharge BMW gets for the package. But - it's all in the eye of the beholder, and I don't begrudge anyone who chose the M Sport package. It's definitely better looking, no question about it.

I didn't pay anything extra for it; I bought a used 2011 in Jan 2012 with 12k miles for waaaaaaaay under the original sticker

That said, if I were to buy new, I would buy it then, too.

I loved the look of the LeMans blue but couldn't justify getting the black interior, which fit the color best, in Savannah weather. Wifey didn't like the blue, so to get the sport package with chestnut interior put me into a regular exterior - not bad but not as much a looker as the M. "Settled" for the white since didn't want another black car, since sport option had limited color choices. Love the car. Already priced a bit high, so letting go of the M option wasn't too hard.

There were several reasons I wanted Msport.

1. LeMans
2. I was going to purchase the bumpers anyway, I did on my last E90
3. Anthracite headliner, very sporty and nice
4. I love the 193 wheels
5. LeMans
6. M Sport steering wheel
7. LeMans
8. Only ~$20 extra per month on the lease payment

Did I mention I just love LeMans blue?

I have seen a couple d's here in Cali but no M-Sport yet. The only M-Sport I've seen was in Texas. It was a copy of mine: Le Mans, Oyster/Black. (Minus the Nürburgring decal on the back, so it wasn't an "exact" copy )

I would have loved the M steering wheel but am OK keeping my car original with the sport steering wheel.
