My version of BMW Tii racing stripes for the E90

Hey guys,

After getting increasingly depressed while washing my car and finding scuff marks, door dings, scrapes and other abuse from the general public and their rude disregard for other peoples vehicles I decided I wanted to add some flare. Just enough to make my vehicle stand out and accomplish several things; A. make it look bad ass. B. draw enough attention to it that people will hopefully give my baby a little more respect when entering/exiting and parking next to her (One of the first people in my lot, and always the first vehicle in the row, at the very far end) C. not draw too much attention that it screams 'rice', 'race me' or 'look at me I have a BMW, bask in it's glory!' lol you get the idea.

So moving on.

Product of choice: Frog Tape & Plasti Dip - Matte Black, Gunmetal, Smoke & Gloss Clear.
Cost $135 (Because in Canada we have a ridiculous upcharge...)

The results: Mediocre. I did not realize that unlike regular spray paint, heavier coats are better. When I did realize I layed them on too heavy trying to fix the bumps that resulted from spraying too far away and got some bleed and pooling. It looks great at dusk, and the camera doesn't capture the mistakes well lol.

The fix: vinyl, pics of vinyl to come within the next week. The Vinyl will be similar in color but a little more blended with the car.

I'm still torn on whether or not I want the stripes. Currently I don't like them because messed up the paint job but there is something about a clean car that is so sexy - so per usual do you like it, is it hideous, don't hold back!

Prior to paint:

I actually really like the contrast of the flat black on top of the gloss black.

Can't tell if I like it or not. There's a lot of glare going on that make's it difficult to really see them. Got any better pics?

Worst $135 spent ever lol

Should've put that towards a spoiler or some tints

$135 could've been spent elsewhere like black reflectors, a spoiler, tint, tinting the side turn indicator...minor mods add up to clean up the car quick.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Some good ideas for minor mods, I'm not one for tint though, but thanks for the ideas.

I'll throw up some better pictures of it without so much glare
