Misfire with Stock Tune

Yep, another misfire thread. I've searched, but haven't really found the solution.

The car misfires in 4th gear or higher starting at about 2,250 RPM, eventually tripping a code for cylinder 5. The car has 51k miles on it now. What I've done so far to try and diagnose this problem:

- Replaced all 6 spark plugs, no change at all
- Swapped coils 2 and 5, misfire stayed on 5
- Replaced number 5 injector with brand new part, updated coding, and double checked all injector values with INPA

Have not cleaned/swapped VANOS solenoids or checked/cleaned the intake valves yet.

I hit enough random buttons in INPA to get a freeze frame out of the DME for the most recent misfire event, but I know a total of two German words. Does anyone see any clues in this data?

Do those lambda integrator and lambda adaptation numbers look off for these cars?

If you know some1 w/ a COBB tune, see if maybe they can use their AP to read the fault codes for you -- might be able to better identify whats causing the misfire

The error code for cyl 5 is listed at the top.

P0305 Verbrennungsaussetzer Erkannt - Zylinder 5 (Misfire Cylinder 5)

Not sure a COBB would show more than INPA - and will the COBB work on my car without being unmarried first?

ps, cobb is going to pull the exact code he has already.

have you cleared it?? do you have downpipes or stock pipes?

Are you insinuating that I should have Googled the code? Of course I know what the code means, I mentioned multiple times that it is a cylinder 5 misfire.

I have cleared it, and it always comes back as cylinder 5. Stock everything.

Compression test was good, all within 5 PSI of eachother (165-170 psi holding the pedal down. No clue if the throttle blade actually opened). The culprit appears to have been the fairly bad carbon buildup - though several of the intake manifold bolts were essentially finger tight, so maybe there was a boost/vacuum leak, too.

It is interesting that this could cause a consistent misfire on a single cylinder.
