Procede Mapping Question
I just installed the newest 9-10 Aggressive maps... I used the stage 2 AT maps as I have an Intake and DP. Which map do I set on the dash? It looks like Map 1 and 2 are identical judging by the numbers but it clearly states in the instructions not to use map 2? I am a little confused here.
Also... what are the proper parameters to log?

Ok! Lets try again...
Map 1 is base map for when not using meth. Map 4 is when using meth. That's what you need to know. Now, when you select map 4, it actually use map 1 (base map) and when meth flow is detected it gradually switch to map 2 proportionally to flow. So select either 1 or 4. If you use 2 directly, you are using boost and ignition advance intended for use while meth flow, but without the protection of reverting back to map1 in case meth flow stops for any reason (empty tank, injector/flow sensor failure, leak...). When using map 4 it auto switch from 1 and 2. |

As Kalud has already said, just stick with Map 1 for now. Map 2 is for users running methanol injection. As far as what to log, I believe the default channels are already set up for you, so you shouldn't need to change anything. Just connect to the Procede User Software and begin datalog. If you get a chance, try and get a log of 3rd gear WOT to redline and preferably shifting into 4th momentarily and post it in here.

FWIW as I was passing Zimbabwe today, I ran a 1M but unfortunately I did not have my gro-pro with me. We raced from 50 to about 125 and he pulled on me by half a car top end. Given that he was FBO with GIAC tune and has a 250 LB advantage, I think my car is running strong considering I have a DP, tune and DCI intake. He also had the full titanium Akrapovic exhaust which gave him at least another 40 lbs under stock weight. Was unable to log as well...
I am somewhat curious what kind of edge would the stage 3 maps have given me if I had an FMIC... or even E85.

E85 will make a big difference. I would guess that if you had Fmic and a blend of E85 that your car was happy with you'd have come out on top.

This is a topic of a lot of debate that could be answered by a simple update from the Vishnu folks, but they seem to hate doing that and everybody is confused.
Although it says that "you should never use map 2" ( why is it there in the first place right? ) I have spoken to Shiv and he said, at least for the aggressive maps that came out earlier this year ( 4-23? ) that map 1 and 2 were exactly the same maps. I checked the settings on both maps and indeed they were identical. I changed the a couple of settings and turned map 1 to a "low boost" map which I don't really use and have not had any problems running map 2 all the time. The 9-10 maps are a minor update, so I believe this is unchanged. |
