JB2HR 1/4 mile results in Alabama 16 DEC 07

Today I made it out to Montgomery Motorsports Park in Alabama for Sunday Test and Tune. I'm not going to be long winded other than to say I love the Juice Box product and think it's a tremendous bang for the buck. With that being said let's get to the Meat and Potatoes!

I have an 07 335 Coupe with Steptronic trans, Comfort access, Sports Package, and Leather. My car does not have an oil cooler...and my only mods are the JB2HR and Dragradials.

Track prep was pretty decent today despite the cold track; I made around ten passes or so. Cutting to the chase...

All runs today were made on the JB2HR with Sunoco 100 and BP 93 octane mix...1/2 tank of gas...18" 275 BFG Dragradials (various pressure). Wish the day didn't run out on me...finally got the launch down a bit playing with the tire pressure; I'll definitely be ready next time. I honestly think I'll do better on 17" DR's.

My best runs today were as follows:

Run 3
R/T... .112
60...1.843
330...5.233
1/8...8.037
MPH...88.08
1/4...12.476
MPH...111.38

Run 10
R/T... .125
60...1.832
330...5.241
1/8...8.053
MPH...87.99
1/4...12.507
MPH...110.91

I had a much better 60' on two runs; both times the car shifted early (in manual mode ) Both would have been very low E.T.'s. Oh well better luck next time! I can say without doubt that the 18inch BFG DR's are capable of 1.67 60' at 15psi! My best trap was 112.12 MPH.

I don't think it's necessary to go through all of my runs; but will if folks are interested. I had a great deal of fun talking with people at the track about the car...most were very surprised at the performance.

I'll scan the slips up on the thread to quell any doubt when I return to Auburn. Also a big thanks to Grayson for the pointers ! Your brother has a very sweet Vette!

Again a huge thanks to Terry! The Juice Box is awesome!

I'm surprised you didn't use a high-flow air filter. Even the drop-in replacement is supposed to be good for 10HP.

I don't have a scanner at my main house...I'll try and scan in the morning if I have time. If not I'll scan the slips up when I get to Auburn within the next couple of days.

Well since you mentioned it...here I go!

I ordered the ITG filter from Vishnu around two weeks ago...I ended up having to cancel the order a few days ago because the damn filter never showed. Now I even called Visnu twice and was told that Calvin would give me a call to discuss. I'm still waiting on the call...no longer waiting for the filter from Vishnu though. Their customer service leaves quite a bit to be desired...actually it straight up blows.

Water under the bridge though and I'll now digress and move on.

Nice numbers!!! Congrats. So, these numbers were on the JB2HR w/ a mix of race gas & pump gas, while on 18" DRs; any idea what you think you would run if just on the JB2H w/ non-RFT street tires?

Also, your 60ft., although very decent at 1.8x sec. isn't the 1.6x sec. 60ft. we've seen from other guys on DRs...maybe b/c of experience, tire pressure, 18" vs. 17", etc.?

Just curious what you think thats all.

Great numbers from a customers car I'd also be interested in knowing what the DA was also.

The numbers were on JB2HR with a mix of Sunoco 100 Unleaded from the pump and BP 93 Octane.

I'm not a bench racer...I'll try to make it out to the track on pump gas JB2H w/ Toyo T-1R's in the stock sizes (18inch). I routinely had 1.9 60ft times on the stock run-flats. I had 1.67 and 1.76 60ft times today as well...just had issues with the stubborn upshifts the Autos suffer from.

Just so we don't get off on the wrong foot...I speak direct and never mix words.

Thanks for the well wishes and the best of luck to you at the track in the future.

Mix that 1.6' with a Filter and some Downpipes and high 11's are there.

I may try the downpipes in the future. Right now I'm very concerned with getting the most out of the car with minimal modding. I think she has a bit more to give as is! I need to extract that performance at the track in the near future!

Cutting a 1.6 drag radials isn't easy at all! It takes a lot of horsepower and a well prepped track. At LACR (a really bad track) I used to cut 1.9-2.0 on drag radials.

Drag radials are actually not the best drag racing tires, they are barely better than non-RFT street tires. The ideal drag tire is an ET Drag, or ET Street if you need a DOT tire. Even on those it takes a lot of torque and a great launch. And with our rear brakes you're stuck in 17" sizes.

FWIW my best times come from letting the car shift. Just leave it in DS. That 1.67 was probably a 12.20.

Your ET is great, but I whish your trap was a little higher, maybe like 113-114 mph or so.
Awesome results for just a "chip" and race gas.

Anyways, make sure you post it on Dragtimes.com

The temp was in the high 40's today when I made most of the runs. It was in the 30's when I arrived and in the 30's when I departed. Track prep was nice but the owners decided to shut the track down because they weren't able to keep enough heat in the track to keep the cars hooking. I have no idea on the humidity or DA...I'll try and search.

If you are auto make sure the operator has done a 335i before, or bring a print out for them. Most of them screw it up.
