Installed flex fuel wires today and immediately got the code 2C86, code is...

" Boost pressure sensor, plausibility: Pressure before throttle valve too low when engine not running "

"Charge Air Pressure in Comparison to Barometric Pressure Too Low"

Its pretty obvious that clipping the two green wires coming from the TMAP sensor messed something up, or possibly that the TMAP sensor itself is having some issues but ive been emailing with Terry for quite some time and after sending a multitude of photos and double and triple checking all connections, we both seemed to be stumped.

Anyone else experience this or something like it? or just have some knowledge/advice for me?

They work great for me. I didn't get any errors at all. It really sounds like you didn't get the 2 green wires coming from the MAP twisted back together properly or the plug on the MAP is having an issue. Make sure the wires are pushed in to the plug all the way.

I didnt twist the green wires together fully and that caused some errors probably the wires arent twisted on properly on your end

Do you have the stock charge pipe? Have you checked to see if you have any leaks? Are you sure you plugged all the sensors into the right spots?

Yeah checked the charge pipe, took the JB4 off and everything is running fine. Sending the JB4 back into BMS for a check from them

Dumb question but are the green wires coming from the TMAP sensor part of the JB4 or the car?

Thanks for the quick reply! Directions indicate those wires are to be capped with wire nut. So they are no longer needed and can be removed completely instead of just capped and left in the car?

Any general advice for future users of FF wires with E85? If you wanted, could you use just 93 pump gas with the FF wires without issue, and switch back and forth with E85 mixed with 93 pump? If desired, can the TMAP wires on the JB4 harness be reconnected if the FF wires are ever removed?

1. I suppose you could remove the wires, but thats a lot of work and somewhat risky IMHO

2. You can switch back to straight pump gas if desired, just make sure the either "reset" map 5 by selecting another map and then going right back to 5 so it can create new valued and adapt for the current octane and ethanol content. When you do put E85 in the tank, after a few miles you can go ahead and do some hard pulls in map 5 to let it adapt. Any time you change the fuel with regards to E85 its a good idea to go ahead and do this.

3. I assume the wires can be reconnected as long as you know what to connect to what. should be fine
