Is this full-on 120+MPH racing on the track? I wanted to do that so much went I first got the e90 in 2005!! I have a helmet, but it's a motorcycle one and doesn't have the flame resistance that most of them want for tracks ;(

For track (road course) it depends on what organization you run with, but most if not all require a SA rated helmet. Mortorcycle helmets are not SA rated but they are a lot cheaper then SA's. Its because Mortorcycle helmets are not flame resistant and you need that for a road course |

Motorcycle helmets are designed for a single impact, then they're done. An SA helmet, on the other hand, is designed to endure multiple impacts, such as b-pillars, seats, passenger (for Law's case), etc.

I thought when I read the Snell site that the difference was mostly fire retardance, not crashability. If I were to delude myself that the helmet would help in a motorcycle crash, I expect to hit a LOT more falling off the motorcycle than being strapped inside the car.

That's fine. You can baseline your car and know what mods you need the next time you go tracking.

I've been to most of the tracks in California, and I have to say that Streets of Willow is by far the worst track in California. Slow corners, pavement is not as smooth as other tracks, and is pretty rough on your car. I would recommend Buttonwillow. Its a fun track. All kinds of challenges.
