Exhaust & Subs's

Hi All,

Well we have commited to buying an F30 335, so in the interim I am going to throw some money at my car to keep me entertained..

First up, I need an exhaust, and am quite keen on this one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=_6eA-NZF0tQ

Its a little raspy.. what do people think?

And secondly, looking for some honest advice.. the bass performance in my 334 is, well POOR! I dont want to go to an external sub as I need the load space for my bikes, so who has attempted upgrading the OEM underseat drivers, was it worth it and what did you use?

For wat it's worth, I'm not so keen on it - sounds a bit "farty". I prefer a bit moer of a bass line...

For your underseat, you need to decide if you want mid-sub bass or sub bass.

If you aren't going to have a subwoofer, go the underseat subwoofer.

I have SWS-8X and also Kicker SSMB8.

My e90 has a seperate subwoofer, so I use the SWS as a midbass driver under the seat

My e88 has no additional subwoofer, so the kickers are used as underseat subwoofers.

I highly recommend you upgrade all the speakers in the car as they are a little underpowered.

I would also recommend an amp upgrade for the subwoofers.

this is my sub setup in the e90

I use a slightly larger grill to better protect the speaker. The correct sized grill was a little worrying when I put load on it.

Do not get top speed exhaust - it is well known fact that is raspy and really crap.

Don't get just cause is cheap!

I would say Vanguard, Eissenman or BMW PE.

Yeah, but you have a 320d, so no second muffler.. 335i's dont have the big vacant hole in the boot!

So it has to be under the seats

I'm not going to pretend I know a lot about audio (as I dont), in essence, I am looking for more punch.. I find that the OEM system sounds "ok" but lacks any real power in lower ranges, and has no thump (great terminology eh?)

Hey Dan,

I refuse to deal with Auto Classic, so the new toy will be coming from BMW Sydney (I'm in NSW every other week anyway)

Hey, have you actually heard a topspeed in real life? I've been doing digging and there seems to be nothing but praise for them, with a lot of the raspiness going after they have carboned up a bit.

For the price, it seems damn hard to go past!
