I think I may have seen/heard about one or two guys having done it, but I don't recall.
I was actually pondering the idea of purchasing the equipment and doing some sort of group walnut blasting get-together. We'd need a few things though: - A good place where we could take apart multiple cars - Multiple local members committed to the cause some how (up front deposit?) - Perhaps one or two guys to do an initial dry-run w/ me (depending on how many commits we get) With enough guys, I don't see a reason why we couldn't get it under $400 per car (BMW charges twice that). To be clear, I'm proposing purchasing the equipment myself, breaking even with the first group (not counting dry run), and pocketing any surplus from additional groups (if there are any). I provide the equipment and know-how (learned from the dry-run). Members disassemble and reassemble their own vehicles. Currently this is at the "wishful thinking" stage, and I'm just putting it out there. Please chime in if you'd be interested or have ideas to contribute. |

It's used to clean the intake valves. Search the N54 tuning forum; it's a fairly regular topic.
