Pro Nav 2008-2 ???
Anyone know when the new disk is out?
As I remember, last year my car came with 2007-2 and it was built mid-May.

Paul, the 2008-2 Business DVD has been released in the last few weeks, but no news yet of a definite release date for the Pro version.
Sergei Industries will keep you updated. Viv |

2008-2 Dual layer capacity?
It looks like the 2008-2 SatNavPro DVD will be a dual layer disc, as there will be now more than 4.3Gb of data held on there.
More info here. This means that Sergei will have to ensure his QC standards are at the highest level at all stages of 'production'. Viv |

2008-2 Professional is indeed a dual layer disc and the format/layout is slightly different from previous version however if you follow the same principles as for previous versions you can still add speed camera locations to the 2008-2.
I have just added the latest speed camera locations to the 2008-2, burnt to a dual layer DVD+R at 1x speed using ImgBurn and it works ok in the car |

Hi Mathmos,
Good on yer with the speed cams. Now that it's dual layer, is there anything on it that stands out as remarkable from the previous versions? cheers Bren |

thanks both
I've not really had the time to play very much with the 2008-2 so can't say if going dual layer adds anything. I imagine anything it adds or were to add in the future would probably need a certain level of firmware. I've just updated http://www.bmwnavaddpoi.co.uk/ with some information on the 2008-2 Professional DVD. Last edited by mathmos; 06-02-2008 at 08:44 AM.. |
