Same here

I'm hoping they total it. If not I'm on the waiting list at Trade Secret. Really sorry, man. I feel ya.

I posted some more photos of the aftermath here, after I had a chance to do a thorough check of the car. Not pretty.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...2&postcount=76

I've been trying to prepare for both outcomes, as right now it's just a waiting game while I'm waiting on the claims adjuster. I've called around to a few body shops and have checked OEM prices on body panels, just to try and get an idea of what the repair cost would be vs. the ACV of the car (i.e. trying to do the math and see if they will actually total it out or not). The body panels (not counting the doors because those have tiny dents that are barely visible) total around $7,500 +/-. By my calculations my car would need to have almost $20,000 in damages to be declared totaled. So I'm not sure what to think right now

My husband does not want his Challenger totaled, and it likely won't be (body panels for those cars are surprisingly cheap). Plus he has an aftermarket hood that's been sitting in the garage ready to throw on, anyway. Lucky him...

Yeah, it's horrible Like a crimescene in my garage -- I can't bear to look.

I'm still amazed the sunroof is completely unharmed. Must be some strong glass.

In other news, apparently every Arctic White E92 for sale within a 200 mile radius has a Carfax dirtier than a rubber toilet seat at a truck stop bathroom. Finding a replacement may take a while......

hey, the transport company that delivered my sedan decided to drop the top of the carrier on my roof and I guess it didn't damage the sunroof, so I'm pretty sure that's some crazy strong glass.

How about a Montego Blue e92 (it rhymes!) =D

Were you able to get it looked at yesterday? What was the verdict?

I'm pretty pissed at Allstate -- they gave me a 9 day window and I haven't heard anything from them since the storm. I get that everyone's busy with this stuff, but I think they should be more responsive.

Safelite is coming out to replace my windshield(s) this afternoon; at least now I'll be able to drive the car in case of (another) emergency.

Yes, Progressive looked at it yesterday and cut me a check for $8200. I think its going to be much more after its looked by a body shop.

Progressive initially told me it would take over a week for them to look at the car but I kept calling a few times a day for 2 days. They flew in adjusters so more time slots opened up. Allstate may be doing the same thing so try calling them again.

I will be dropping Progressive after this. I've heard good experiences with Esurance and Amica.

Wow, only $8200? I added up costs of OEM body panels alone and it came to just under $7,000. Plus the whole car will need to be re painted. I was assuming they would total mine but we had similar damage, so now I'm not so sure :/

Good luck! Your car looked really nice. I hope you get it back in perfect shape. Trade Secret in Plano does some phenomenal work, FYI, and the owner is a stand-up guy. Really nice and answered all of my thousand questions.

As of now the only replacement part is the hood; the other body parts can supposedly be repaired. The estimate didn't include the carbon fiber top which I'm sure has to be replace as well.

It will probably go up to $10,000-12,000 when its all done.

I spoke with Trade Secret but they have a really long wait.

Only the hood? Wow. I find that hard to believe. Are all of your dents on flat surfaces? Those M3 CF roofs are hella expensive, too (especially labor since roofs have to be cut/welded off) :/ Hope you don't end up going out of pocket too much. I know insurance can be slow to pay for adjusted claims.

Also, I believe Allstate recently purchased Esurance so I would be wary if this is the case. I have not been pleased with Allstate at all. So far their only saving grace has been that customer service has been friendly and considerate when you can actually get someone on the phone (then again, that's kind of their job). I had Nationwide a few years ago and they are absolute crap. Just horrible in every way, so it could be worse I guess.

I'm sure the trunk and some other panels will have to be replaced. I just don't see how some of the dents can be repaired. My only out of pocket will be the deductible. Progressive also covered the clear bra that I have on the entire front hood - so that's good.

I've been having to wait an hour on hold for Progressive each time. My friend, with Esurance, was able to have someone look at his car on Friday and provide an estimate.

I didn't want to have only the glass replaced because its everywhere in the car. I think the only way to properly clean it all up is if the body shop takes apart the back and pulls the seats out - but I'm sure they'll still do it once your car gets in the shop.

Yeah. I know some of those PDR guys can work wonders but at a certain point it becomes a little ridiculous to try and repair something like this. I might just buy a Vorsteiner hood and a CSL trunk lid.

The guy who came out to do my glass today said "no way in hell" would they total my car (he's been all over the neighborhood doing windshields and had just got finished doing an A4 that had such bad damage to the trunk that the whole thing was sunken in like it had a 5,000lb weight dropped on it). So we'll see. I'll call Allstate and light a fire under their ass to see if we can get this over with sooner.

I cleaned out the glass inside the car yesterday, but I'm sure there's some behind the back seats. The windshield guy vacuumed out all my vents and under my hood for me, so the interior looks pretty much perfect right now. This has just been a roller coaster. It's a Lose/Lose as far as I'm concerned. I don't want the car totaled for such a stupid reason when I'd finally gotten everything how I wanted it, but if it's not it'll be in the shop for months. :\

VERDICT: NOT TOTALED.

Looks like I'm getting a check for around $9,000. I'm sure that won't cover everything, but the adjuster said it was nowhere near totaled, and they are replacing a lot of panels.

Piecing together some aftermarket hood and deck lid options right now. Anyone know any good deals or have a used Pre-LCI E90 CF hood or trunk lid they'd be interested in selling?

Before you endorse and accept the check, get a repair estimate from Classic's bodyshop. Then prepare to fight the insurance company some. I'm willing to bet that the estimate from the bodyshop will come back much higher (and more accurate) than the insurance agency's adjuster. Remember, he IS working for THEM after all....

Yeah, I have a body shop that I will try to get in for an estimate this week.

Not really sure what to think -- the resale value is already f#cked so I am thinking about just going balls out and getting aftermarket deck lid, hood, pulling the fenders and wrapping the car. Because at this point, why the hell not? :/

Agree that the shops estimate will probably be much higher... get that extra cash, fix the roof and rear quarters, then aftermarket the rest. Hell, if you have a good man, have him do the fenders, hood, bumper and trunk after you get them painted and pocket the rest of the cash.

*good man* meant put your husband to work on it!
