1986 Firebird SE, the engine was seized, the previous owner overheated it. Bought it for $500 and rebuilt the engine for $1200 with my Dad with performance parts.

1964 Nash Rambler, as a HS graduation present in 1971.
Cost was $600 - my Dad paid half and I paid the other half.

Here she is in all her glory, a 1966 Pontiac Tempest Custom. It wasn't my 1st car, but it was the 1st that was road legal (note not safe, only legal). I traded the interior out of a 1982 Firebird for it, and I think I got ripped off! Horrible car, plenty of rust everywhere, but it did mean burnouts with it's 326 and powerglide trans, and was tons of fun to drive. |

2006 Range Rover HSE in 2007
Traded it 10mos later for a CPO 07 335 that I sold 18mos later for an slk55 which went after a year for my 1. Still regret getting rid of the 335, had so many memories in that car.

Mine was a 1978 Trans Am 400 6.6L Hurst 4 speed.
I bought it when I was 15 for $1 and spent the next year fixing it. Fixed the blown lifters/pushrods. Replaced the intake (Edelbrock) and carb Holly 750 DP). Replaced the clutch. Did some body work. Installed a new radio. Installed a CB with the whip antenna on the trunk like Smokey and the Bandit. I was bad ass in high school (1989-90) with my AC/DC cassette cranking Back in Black Blew up the motor 4 months after getting my license redlining it at 160....opps.

First Car
A 1968 Chevy Nova II that my dad bought for me in 1977 for like $300 when I went away to college.
No A/C, no power steering, just an AM radio. Bench seats, which worked out with my girlfriend at the time. No carpeting and there was a hole in the floor board (from rust). Took regular gas - there was not CAT. It was an in-line 6 Back then I didn't care what the car didn't have - just that fact that we could go places. |
