I had In ground sprinklers installed today, so I parked my cars on the street last night. At 12:30am, someone rang my doorbell like a madman and it was my neighbor. She saw that 2 guys were trying to steal my car and called the cops. She went out and confronted them, and they said they would kick her ass but eventually left.

My car is ok, but I feel violated and am sick and tired of hearing about lawsuits of burglars and thieves suing the damn people they rob. Had I been awake, I would have done something rash and broken their legs with a baseball bat and probably would have gone to jail.

I've lost all faith in humanity. I try not to stereotype, but it's really hard not to.

thats a good neighbor. My neighbors probably wouldn't have done shit until the crime was over. Like when some drunk threw a giant ass piece of rock through my dad car. The fool came over the next morning, "yeah I saw a drunk guy throw a rock through your car" wtf.

Its funny but I just learned this in my Psych 2 class. The "Bystander Effect".

Your neighbor deserves something for her good actions.

+1, my neighbor made tons of ding on my door.. i can even match them up to the exact plastic strip on their door that ding my door.. when i confronted them, they just said 'it can't be avoided, the spots are small'. Didn't even offer to pay or split the cost of repair..

Meanwhile, I have my passengers get out b4 i park. I hate people.

if they add up, u can file a small claims suit against them. that's what i plan to do when i catch my neighbors

isnt your parking garage assigned parking?
you should easily be able to identify whose spot it is by going to the management office.
Take some pics of the damage on your door, take some pics of the marks left behing on your parking spot neighbors door (if applicable) and wa-laa show them the proof you have and tell them you are calling the police to investigate. Hopefully that will scare them into working something out. Otherwise just call the cops and let them and your insurance handle it.

I usually park in the garage, so I don't really mind not having one....maybe it was a coincidence that the one day I parked outside they tried to steal it....
