She's on the schedule to arrive in the Port of Hueneme on March 14.

Here she is in the English Channel. At the moment she's in the middle of a mess of ships, so it is hard to attach her label to her location on this radar map. You will find her label towards the center of the map. If you follow the line from her label, it takes you to a long line of ships heading out of the English Channel. This screen will change in a little bit (half hour?) and we might be able to tell a little better where she is located.

Here's another view, but not a lot better. She needs to get away from this large clump of ships. She will probably be out of the English Channel tomorrow and out into the Atlantic Ocean. She is not trackable when she's out in the open ocean. We can only track her when she is within 50 miles of a port.

If she is heading straight to the Panama Canal, it will take her two weeks to get there from the English Channel. I don't see her on the PanCanal schedule, yet, but she will eventually show up on it.

http://www.boydsteamship.com/daily_traffic_report.htm

Keep an eye on the schedule and then you will have an idea the day she is due to reach the canal. There are three web cameras through the 50 mile canal system and you can watch her go through.

http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

From the canal it takes approximately six days to get to SoCal, so if she is due in SoCal on March 14, count back one week and that will give you the approx date she will be in the PanCanal system.

Taking into account the date she is due in Hueneme (Mar 14), and counting back the days it takes to get from SoCal to PanCanal to English Channel, it looks like she has no intermmediate stops (east coast) and will be heading straight to SoCal.

Here's a homework project for you that might help the wait. Look on the sailwx maps I posted in this thread above and look at the names of the other ships sailing near Global Leader on those maps. Then go to this web site: sailwx.info and click on ship tracker, then ship tracking worlwide. Zoom in on the map and look for the names of the same ships that were sailing by Global Leader in the English Channel. See if there is another ship that might be heading towards the Panama Canal, just like Global Leader. There certainly could be another ship on sailwx that is sailing in tandem towards the Panama Canal along with Global Leader. I have tracked other ships this way and if you find another ship sailing in tandem on sailwx, it gives you an idea of where your ship is on the ocean today.

It shows she arriving on the 3rd, but that she isn't transiting until the 7th! What is she going to do for four days?? I bet they will back that transit time up and she will transit earlier than the 7th.

According to the San Diego schedule, she is due into San Diego on the 11th, and it takes 6-7 days to get from the PanCanal to San Diego, so she should transit the canal on the 4th or 5th. We'll have to wait and see.

For now, you are the only one onboard Global Leader who is posting in this thread. Sometimes there are lerkers who are actually onboard, but too shy to post. Sometimes it takes people a long time to figure out what ship they are on. Sometimes there are even lerkers checking these posts who are really on the MiniCooper forum (another group of tracking animals), but they come over to this forum for information. You may get a couple people to join you.

That two week black hole is really difficult, so it is fun to see progress again!

I am sure she's there somewhere. Look at all the red arrows. There is definitely a radar problem. I am watching Kassel transit the canal today and she's completely dropped off radar, too. GL will show up again. And, sometimes they drop off Boyd's, too. I don't know why.

Her San Diego arrival has moved out one day to 3/12, but it remains the same for port Hueneme on 3/14.
