Excellent DIY guide! I used it this weekend to install my oem Aluminum trim. A big +1 to using a plastic trim removal kit or something non-metal to pry your trim pieces off.

Also, removing the shift knob is not necessary. You can remove/install the center console trim piece with just the shift boot popped off.

I know it has been a while, but does anyone still have any of their wood trim left from their change? I just bought a 2011 335d with a couple scratches it the trim and I am thinking about replacing it with some lightly used pieces. Feel free to PM if you like.
Thanks!

Bringing this thread back from the dead...

I just replaced my M3's aluminum trim w/ anthracite sycamore & couldn't be more pleased.

Many thanks to the OP, as I found these instrux extremely helpful.

Thank you!

That looks pimp! I am definitely going to try this after I do a few more pressing mods.

I have aluminum trim and I'd like to replace with dark wood trim. Anyone have OEM wood trim to sell (or even swap)?

With what? Got link?

I figured if there are people looking to get rid of perfectly good OEM woodgrain, perhaps even looking to swap , then I would rather go with the real thing.
