Don't see a lot of posts where PS pulley hits sub-frame

So is it really anything to be worried about? I caught the post a few days ago where the extended warranty excludes it.....and I remember seeing the TSB years ago.

Seems like all '07's and up to mid 08's are affected, yet we don't see many posts. Am I ok to hit potholes, at least at reasonable speeds?

I guess judging by the number of posts, it seems limited to a select lucky few. I've talked to some fellow car enthusiasts and they said bottom line, design flaw, no way does a motor make contact with a sub-frame aka carrier. But if it were widespread, there would be NHTSA complaints equating to a recall, which hasn't seemed to have happened. Dunno who is more slick, BMW or John Edwards, they both seem to do as they please with impunity!

I had to replace the pulleys under warranty because of damage. I then look the subject up here and find threads about this.
Ill be asking BMW to check the subframe next visit but should there be any specific questions or requests I should give to them?

I just found this thread, what am I looking for on the "subframe" issue ? Doing a ton of preventative maintenance right now and wanted to check this also

Thanks
Sethro
