Lightbulb Carbon Spoiler Removal / Betalink = Yes

Hi All, [Yes, iIam a new member but been watching for a while]

I have just sucessfully removed an E90 OEM carbon spoiler that I attached with Betalink!

I used some fine nylon string and carefully slid it under the edge of the spoiler and pulled it along using a sawing motion to cut through the Betalink. It was slow going but I eventually did it - No damage to the spoiler or boot [trunk] lid.

The worst part was removing the betalink residue from the paintwork. I just had to pick it off and rub it away gradually - took me about 2 hours.

I just left the residu on the spoiler as this will not really effect re installation.

Hope this helps clear this point up as I know there has been a lot of discussion on this point previously.

Ian.

Cool, maybe I will do mine today. Did you use fishing line or dental floss?

I used some nylon string from an old Kite. It is very thin but very strong. I did snap it a few times along the way.

Go carefully!

i'm looking to reattach my front lip with 3M tape. The bonding agent, which i believe to be betalink, has cracked on one of the center supports. when i peel the lip away, its a blackish gray and hard as rock bonder. Is this betalink?

beta link is a pain in the ass to remove compared to good old 3m mounting tape.
