enjoy the car for what it is.... a car. its not flesh and blood its a machine (a fairly expensive one at that) your car will be fine if you razz it all the time.

the car is under warranty if it blows up they'll fix it

when i bought my e46 M3 brand new in 2004 i gave it the full beans from the first time i drove it ( the exhaust note was too tempting )

drove it for 30000 miles and it didnt miss a beat.

is my advice

Steve

I agree!! I have to admit that I drive any new car I get as hard as I ever will want to - within reason. (I would never red-line it when its cold)
It has never done any harm so far. And so what if it does blow up, thats the luxury you have with a new car and it being under warranty. God knows - we are certainly paying for the privilege to do so

As long as BMW don't hook it up to a machine and find you exceeded the break-in guidelines.....p'raps that's a bit far fetched... can they tell?!

You'd be surprised what they can download from the obd. When I was racing the first thing that was downloaded from the logger was the max RPM. You could tell where abouts and on which lap it occured. Computers nowadays have so much more processing power and memory.

Regards

Chris
