basically your paying x for the car during your lease, when you put more cap/downpayment your basically just lowering your monthly payment. for example if you put an extra 1k down your payment will go down 20 or so bucks. You still have to pay x for the lease your just putting more down upfront to lower your payment throughout the term of the lease.

SennettOr - I rolled all inceptions into the lease and decided to pay the bank fee $725 out of pocket and still came up with a $617/per month payment on 335d loaded. One caveat is I put down 7 MSD's to lower the interest rate (money factor).

You can roll everything into the lease payment. Cap Reduction is a way to reduce your monthly payment. Good luck..you are close to a new BMW

Keep in mind that the lease rate, money factor, trunk money, incentives (such as free automatic transmission), etc are different every single month. It'd be good if sponsoring dealers can keep everyone updated of stuff like this because it DOES alter the lease payment by alot

Currently have a 2011 X5 which I bought, and am looking at the following vehicle from a different dealer. Any thoughts or help would be much appriciated.

So I'm looking at a:

2011 335i Convertible with an MSRP of $60,500. Dealer says that they will sell it for 5% off, which comes to like $57,475. Asked dealer about a lease, and they quoted me "$830 / month with $1195 due at inception".

What do you all think of this.

I don't really ever lease anything, so this is new to me...

I don't have your particulars. However, I just priced out a 335is and the MSRP is 60,525. Good deal would price out at $55,260. Your dealer is high.

Then on to the lease. You need your dealer to give you the terms, how many months, money factor which is the interest rate, and the residual. After we get the terms,
Only then can the lease be determined to be fair or not.

By the way Golfrr quoted me a great deal right off the bat. Let us know what happens.

Just ordered a 335xi sedan with the following options and locked in March 2011 numbers:

Premium
M-Sport
Comfort Access
Cold Weather
H/K Stereo
iPod
Steptronic
Metallic Paint

The deal, including acquisition fee, MACO & Training, and X-Drive credit, came to $40 over invoice. I also got the OLP MF of .0016 (no mark up), which you need to ask for if you qualify for the program. My goal was to get this car for about $200 less than I paid, but well within my tolerance and given I didn't step foot in the dealership and completed the deal over the phone in 15mins easily offset the $200.

Incredibly, this car costs ~$4,000 more than my previous 2008 335i sedan I leased in 2007, but the 10k/36month monthly lease payment (same lease for both cars) is ~$10/month LESS!

Now I just have to wait 6-8 weeks for the thing to arrive!

What vehicle is this? Can't be a 3 series with the residual so low. Also, BMW Acquisition fee is $725 with some dealers marking up to $925.

Most importantly, never put any money down on a lease. If the car is totaled or stolen, that money is gone. Instead, put the money in a bank account and draw down from it equally each month and apply it to the lease. Better yet, if a BMW, make multiple security deposits (MSD) to lower your Money Factor. You will get the money back at the end of the lease.

Ah, that makes sense. Unfortunately, Audi provides terrible lease support, hence the low residual and high monthly payment. Love the S4, but for that kind of monthly lease, you could get into an M3.

335i X-Drive is a great car and lease support from BMW us pretty good. Currently, Steptronic auto transmission is a no charge option and as of March, BMW was offering an option credit for X-Drive essentially making that free.

No kidding! Effectively $1,000/mo for an S4. That's just crazy! Even take away the $5000 deposit and it's still too much.

I was thinking the same thing. I test drove it today, nice car but I'm not looking to spend $875 a month to drive a $55,000 car.... I have always financed my cars but was looking at getting into leasing, just seems like a big headache.

Just picked up my first BMW yesterday, 2011 335d. Lease deal. Car has cold weather, premium, ipod/usb, Sat radio, heated wheel, Navigation, and black saphire paint. payment is $570/month with $700 up front, tax rolled in @ 8%. mf 0.00185. I really think I got a great deal, and drove 250 miles home on less than half a tank getting 33.5 mpg, averaging 78.4 mph..... pics soon
